Elder Clement

Ya Definitely Not 5 Yet!

Hoy que tal? Aquí va todo bien en San Marcos. Fue una semana exitosa y estamos emocionados por una semana más de trabajo arduo. Everything is going great here in San Marcos! The second week with my new companion Elder Clement was awesome! His Spanish is coming along great! We're working hard and meeting lots of new people which has been super fun! It's weird to say it, but the work can be almost fun as you strive to do everything you can to meet new people and get to know them. This week we also had our interviews with President Bush for the transfer and he talked to us on the importance of using our time wisely. So Elder Clement and I made plans to be more efficient here in San Marcos so that we can help people come unto Christ and find salvation in his name.

To explain the title, my companion always says this phrase when we step outside when it's hot (which is all the time). As soon as we step outside he will say "Ya definitely not 5 yet" haha and it's super true. Down here after about 5 pm it cools down slightly and then we're not sweating as much and it's much more comfortable. That's his favorite time of day and so he always says it haha.

This week I completed 10 months in the mission. I wanted to shout out to my dad for cumpliendo años as they say here in Honduras. He just had his birthday and it was on that same day (the 28th of September) a year ago I opened my mission call and I can still perfectly remember that powerful spirit that came over me as I read that I would serve the Lord here in Honduras. It's crazy that I'm now living it. The Lord is so merciful, loving, and patient with every one of us. I know that he guides us by way of His spirit in all that we do as we choose with our agency to be obedient and listen to His voice. I'm so grateful to be here.

We're making some progress with Hermana Karla! This week on Thursday we went with our ward mission leader and he helped her a lot to understand and resolve her doubts. She is now a lot more open to what we have to share and actually tonight we will be teaching her again! So that's exciting. We haven't given up on her yet! We also found out that we're going to be able to make some progress with la Familia Ramirez so that's exciting. We're finding lots of people and receiving referrals as well and we're so excited to see what the Lord has in store here in San Marcos.

I am so grateful for the Atonement of Jesus Christ and I know and testify with King Benjamin that if we have come to a knowledge of the atonement which has been prepared from the foundation of the world, and if we put our trust in the Lord and should be diligent in keeping his commandment and continue in the faith unto the end of our lives, we shall receive salvation.(Mosiah 4, 6-9) I am so grateful that our Savior gave everything for us that we might be saved by faith in his name. The plan of God truly is perfect and He loves us more than we know. I am so grateful to participate in this plan, especially in the Last Days. I love this gospel and I love all of you. Have a great week!

Elder Ludlow
