A Week of Learning

Que tal están todos?! Esta semana era una semana llena de dificultades y momentos de gozo. Al final era una semana de aprendizaje. This week we learned a lot. In the end sister Karla didn't get baptized. We had a rough experience with her this week. The day before her baptism she found a lot of false information on the church and began to have a lot of doubts. We're going to keep teaching her and see how things go. We're hoping to help her to recognize what she's felt and be able to know about the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon. But it was a rough experience. On the other hand we made a greater effort this week to work in the vineyard in these last days and we're seeing many blessings from the Lord . Later I'd like to share an experience we had yesterday.

Transfers are here! And I'm staying! I was super surprised because I've been here longer than my companion Elder Gimenez but he will be going to another area in the same Zone Merendón. I will be staying at least 3 more months here in San Marcos and it'll be amazing I'm super excited. I will be training again and I was told that it's about 99% sure that I'll be training an Elder from the United States so that's exciting. I'm nervous but excited at the same time. It's sad that I won't be with Elder Gimenez anymore because we've become such great friends but he'll be living in the house of the zone leaders so I'll be able to see him on exchanges these next two transfers which is cool.

This week as a companionship we read a talk by Tadd R. Callister titled "Becoming a Consecrated Missionary" and it helped me to recognize how I can improve, repent, change and be better. He talks about the difference of a change in behavior and a change of nature. I want to be able to change my nature and return a different person. The talk is amazing and I invite those who are preparing to serve a mission to read it before they leave because it's amazing and super helpful.

Yesterday we had an amazing experience. We arrived at a house to meet with a new contact named Carmelina. When we arrived a man was at the door, her husband, and he welcomed us immediately into the house. He identified himself as Hector and he was super friendly. We came into the house and Carmelina gave us dinner out of nowhere which was super cool and it was delicious. Afterwards, we shared a small message with Hector and Carmelina and we had a conversation with them about eternal families and it was amazing. The both of them were super enthusiastic and super receptive. They were so happy to listen to us and receive us and it was amazing. The entire visit the spirit was palpably present testifying to them of the truthfulness of our message. I'm so grateful that Heavenly Father guided us to find this family (the Lopez family) and I know that his angels are preparing people for us and all missionaries to teach.

I'm so grateful for the opportunity to be a missionary in this, the final dispensation of the fulness of times. What a blessing it is to work in the work of the Lord. Let us all press on in the work of the Lord! Love you all and thank you for your support. Have an amazing week!

Love,
Elder Ludlow
