FELIZ NAVIDAD!!!!!
Hola amigos y familia
This week was pretty great!
To start off..
Monday: We got to go to the mall and eat some subway, man was that good. It was so weird being in the mall. The people there are pretty funny, let me tell you why hahah
First off, we had like 6 people come up to us and try and sell us food....While we were eating haha. Then this lady came up and asked for money, we aren't aloud to give them money because it doesn't encourage them to go out and get a job. Everything is super cheap here, and it's hard not to spend money, but I have to resist that urge haha.
Tuesday
We taught two of our investigadors. One is a women, her name is Dulce (Which means candy) and the other, also a women (Claudia) Who has this awesome pitbull that we always play with. Dulce is 29, she has a son who is 10 months old. She lives with her boyfriend, who she is trying to get married to in order to be baptized, but something is delayed with their papers for marriage. So we are crossing our fingers. Claudia, Is neighbors with Dulce and so she is always over there. She has a smoking problem, and went from 8 cigarettes a day, to 2. but we need her to get down to ZERO. She has a baptismal date as well for the 14th of January. We are praying she can conquer her addiction in time.
Wednesday: There's always parties and fireworks and things of that sort always going on. Kids like to light the fireworks next to our house and often times it hits our house haha. It sounds like legit bombs. We didn't have much luck with our lessons that day.
Thursday: The whole mission met at the Stake Center in Chalco, and we had a huge Christmas party. We had to buy gifts for each other so I bought someone a hat (The gifts were exchanged randomly) We then had to perform little skits that we came up with. Ours was about the movie "Inside Out" but in a missionaries few haha it was awesome. We then ate some food, Chicken (like always), Enchiladas (Like always) oh and tortillas (Like always) hahaha. There isn't a crazy variety here. We normal have 3 of the same things every meal.
Friday: Just a normal day, no luck with lessons either, so we taught at members homes. We did pick up a new investigador. He was listening to byu vocal point, and they were singing hymns. He didn't know who they were, but as we past his house I heard and said "This guy is listening to church hymns) So we tapped on his gate and we started talking, we taught him the first lesson and is interested in more.
Saturday: Christmas eve! but it was christmas for people here, parties everywhere, a lot of people held babies that were plastic and cradling them (Symbolizing Jesus as a baby) It was SO strange hahaha.
Sunday: Went to church, and got to email the FAMILY AND CHEYENNE! So needed, it was wonderful to hear from all of them.
The church is true, keep reading your scriptures, praying, and going to church!
