Week #23

It's crazy to me to see how fast the weeks seem to be flying by. It is crazy hot here and sometimes I just want to die because it is so hot. It was a busy week with lots of things happening. Because our area is large, sometimes it takes a few hours on the bus to get where we are going. This past week, we spent about two hours on the bus being totally roasted by an Israelite. There was no use in trying to even talk to him, so we just had to sit and listen. He pretty much was blaming us for dropping a bomb on Japan back in WW2 and that the Mormons only want their women and money. He just had to mostly laugh at him. The people on the bus were like, is this stuff true about the Mormons? We just said, what do you think and they were like, nah probably not. It was just funny. We even snuck a video of the conversation cause it was so funny.

This past Sunday was an awesome day, we had 12 investigators who came to church with us. It was super awesome, like really super awesome because our ward consists of only about 70 members, so it was neat to have 12 new people looking into our church.

This week we were teaching a family and it started raining! So my companion and I ran out side and stood there and taught the family from outside while they stood in their house. We stayed outside because we haven't seen the rain in forever down here as it never rains sadly.

We also met a family that owns a restaurant and they have feed us some of the best food I think I have ever eaten. Super super good. I have missed my old Pensionista and her cooking from my first area, which explains my 10 lb weight loss. Our new Pensionista just isn't quite as awesome and most of the time dogs us on our meals. Anyway, this family has a son living in Utah with a Mormon family and they took him to church and now the dad wants us to teach him, so it's cool how God puts certain people and circumstances into place. Their son is now going to be baptized and he loves going to church.

We have a baptism scheduled for this week with a 12-year-old boy named Daniel, he's a super solid kid. We were also able to do some service by planting trees for a friend of the lady that we live with. It was awesome because he played us some cool 80's music while we did it! The trees we planted are called Flamboyant and they are very cool and colorful trees. You all should look them up. I want to bring back some seeds and plant my own at home. lol

There's a young boy, who is 10-years-old and he's hilarious. He was telling us about how his older brother got a new phone and has stopped playing with him since getting that new phone. He said he has wanted to break the phone into pieces. It was really kinda sad....made me think of my brothers and sister back home and thinking I probably could have gone out and hung out more instead of messing around on my phone. Hopefully, they will forgive me. Now that I'm out here on a mission, life is so much better living life without my phone. I didn't realize how much time I wasted being on it all the time. So get out and enjoy life, we have so much to do at home. These kids down here play with sticks and are so happy. Really, they are just happy with absolutely nothing.

Well, I think that's it for this past week. Hope you all have a great week! Love you all...
