If I'm not doing missionary work with a smile, I'm not doing it right!

When you are in quarantine, there are not many new experiences but salamanders and a killer slow cooker peaked my interest this week! Also, I saw my first red cardinal and it was beautiful! One other thing I have discovered is that google translate is a SAINT! We have been teaching an investigator in Hindu because there is nobody else that speaks his language. But Google Translate has saved us!

Speaking of another language. I must say, Sister Sam Smith is doing great missionary work! She called with a an investigator who had moved to my area. Caught me off guard for a moment because I haven't gone by my first name in a while but we connected the investigator with the Spanish missionaries and he is doing well. Keep it up Sister Smith!

Just as the humidity is increasing, so is the missionary work. We taught three lessons on Easter and I have five lined up for the next day (over the phone). There are frustrations that can get to you in life, especially when you are in quarantine on a mission. But thinking of the story of the brother of Jared- he had a time when he knew what needed to happen but wasn't sure how to do it. Likewise, missionary work has a few hurdles. He took it to the Lord and then did everything he could to work toward his goal. The lord turned stones to light and similarly I can use my phone to transfer the light of Christ. I have learned that when I don't get caught up on frustrations and I bring my desires to the Lord with my best solution, I am rewarded with blessings beyond my capacity when I give everything I have to work towards those goals. In the past week my contacts and lessons have doubled, even tripled. I have also found that phone contacting can boost my day. Obviously I would rather be out working in person, but right now my efforts are being magnified and I am so grateful for that. The Lord can work miracles with our best efforts.

One other thing I have learned about myself. I get excited to share the gospel and that is as it should be. If I'm not doing it with a smile, I'm not doing it right! This is the plan of happiness, there is no other way to teach it.

Have a great week!
Elder Kaden Williams
