Light The World

This week I have been able to learn a lot about our zone because my first District Meeting in Mabalacat zone was this week. I got to meet all of the amazing missionaries in my zone. I even met a missionary that loves to rock climb, and his first area was also Vargas! There are also a lot of Sister Missionaries in this new zone whereas last area we didn't have any. It was awesome the light and spirit that they brought into the meeting. They gave a lesson about having the faith to find, and it was really spiritual. They answered a lot of the fears that everyone had about finding investigators.

Elder Ronte and I decided that this week we are going to work extra hard at TWE (Talking With Everyone), and I am super excited to use this in the work. I also got to go on exchanges with our Zone Leader (Elder Thorely). I was companions with his companion Elder Ogilvie. He served one transfer in America because he was waiting for his visa, and then he arrived in the Philippines at the same time as I went to the mission field. We were both kind of new, but we just decided to talk to everyone because they had both just arrived in their area and didn't have any investigators yet. We met so many people with different backgrounds, and it was so fun to be able to talk, joke, and teach so many people in one day. I finally feel like I am starting to become aligned with their culture a little bit, and be able to understand better how to help them in their lives. This has given me more motivation to learn the language the best that I can in order to be able to relate to them, and help them.

Also, this week we taught the "Light the World" challenge to our investigators and members for Christmas this year. It was amazing to see their desire to share their light. Especially the people that had a strong testimony and had felt the light of Christ in their lives, and how they were trying to share that light with others. We also, are trying to help one couple get married. The wife is a member of the Church, and the husband is not yet. So, we have been teaching him. I have realized how helpful it is to have family members testify to each other about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. They are able to relate to each other perfectly and share the perfect experience in order to bring the spirit the strongest to the lesson. I am so grateful for families especially as it as close to Christmas, and I have realized how important they are in our lives as I have been teaching the Plan of Salvation.

At church this Sunday it was the last Fast Sunday of the year so everyone wanted to bear their testimonies. They were all about being happy through the Light of Christ. Then we had a really good meeting with our Branch President, and he gave us so much help for our area. I have really felt the joy of the Mission this week, and I hope that I can always feel this happy.

- A couple of scriptures that have helped me be happy this week are Alma 18:35 and Alma 26:22

- We went to Mang Inasal where you get unlimited rice and I beat the Filipinos in eating the most cups of rice

- They were making fun of me when I tried to eat fish here though, because I take forever to get all of the bones out

- I learned how to make adobong baboy

- I was able to give a blessing to someone that lived in St. George and Cedar City and only spoke English. He worked in the St. George temple a long time ago.

(God will give you joy and peace through the Holy Spirit when you do the things He wants for you. Like prayer, reading the Holy Scriptures, or being kind. This is how He shows you that you are doing something good.)

Love
- Elder Klein
