Troy, Montana, USA

Elder Shurtleff

Hey everyone!! The mission field is sooooo awesome! My trainer is Elder Shurtleff and he is so awesome. We work hard and get lots done. My first area is Troy and Libby Montana. We cover Troy, Libby, and the Yaak. There are about 4,000 people in Libby, 1,000 people in Troy, and like 200 in the Yaak. There's only one ward in Libby and there are about 100-150 members. In Troy there is one small branch of about 50 members. Yesterday in sacrament meeting I got asked to help bless the sacrament. I was sort of shocked at first because I didn't think the priest was serious, but I soon came to find out that he very much was. I also got to bear my testimony for testimony meeting, which was a good way to introduce myself into the ward. We have like 20 people that we are teaching so we're SUPER busy all day. The people here are super receptive to the gospel and are willing to listen. The Lord has prepared the hearts of so many people here and the work is moving along great. Even when they aren't interested they are very nice. We got two referrals my first day here which was awesome. The members are super awesome and do LOTS of missionary work. They talk to everyone they meet about the gospel and give the missionaries here a lot of referrals. The ward missionaries do so much missionary work and do like 6 hours of missionaries per day and it's so awesome. The mission is amazing and I can't wait to see what these two years have in store. I love you guys! Love Elder Abbott
