Well folks for those that doubted me I made it 19 years old and well can't say I'm the same person as when I turned 18 so I guess I'm making some progress. On another note none of you will have the chance to get to know me as a 19 year old kid. Anyway, we had a great time this week and saw a lot of blessing.
First off we got to teach a Family that lives in Garzones which is a really far walk that takes about an hour but they are the coolest people ever it's amazing. Every time we teach them we learn with them directly from the spirit because the lessons are just so spiritual. Besides that they always prepare a juice or a treat for us. this week it was empanadas and maracuya juice which is by far my favorite juice in the world.
We got to assist the baptism of David which was a very powerful moment even though his family didn't come because they wanted him to feel like it was the wrong choice. When he bore his testimony it was very strong and he made it clear that his decision and the day all came directly from the Lord and that he was willing and had the desire to stand as a witness to his family of the restoration and the importance of the Book of Mormon.
I had a great birthday here in Colombia and really felt the love of the people. One person we teach even bought me and cake and did some decorations for me. it was very sweet and heartfelt. With that, thanks to all that reached out in emails or however it means a ton and I am super grateful.
Well I gave a talk on the Book of Mormon so I'll just say that book is the key. It's how we can ward off evil and temptation and learn to keep our minds clean and focused on the Lord. Just like the apostle Peter who began to sink while walking on water if we don't learn to stay focused on the Lord we can all too easily begin to sink into the depths of despair and evil. It's our job to make that choice but the Lord still waits to help us when we need it.
