Hello everyone!!
It has been a few weeks. Let me see if I can catch you all up on what has happened! So a few weeks ago I got booted out of Ellerslie and now I am in Southgate. My new companion is Elder Liddicott. He's from England and is a pretty awesome guy.
The work here is interesting. The very first week we got someone on a baptismal date and then found out that they were moving to a different ward week after the baptism. So we gave the missionaries for that ward a free baptism! Yeah, I didn't like that too much, but I know the other missionaries will do well with them.
This past week has been very interesting as well. We have had basically no luck finding anyone new to teach, but crazy things keep happening. We talked with this guy named Bill, he is going blind. One day he was sitting at an LRT (light rail transit) station, he looked on the ground and saw a Book of Mormon laying there. So he started to read it. He took it home and we eventually knocked on his door and he told us this story.
We also set up a lesson with this guy named (left blank on purpose). He is a former investigator and so we set up a time to meet with him. Within the first 30 minutes or so he starts bashing the Book of Mormon. Then at the end of all this bashing, he told us about his desire to be baptized. Well folks, all I got to say is that this was the most interesting person and most interesting lesson I've ever had up to this point of my mission.
We have talked with so many wonderful people this week and it has been so awesome! It was actually Canada Day yesterday (July 1st) and so we were able to help out at an art festival. That was a pretty awesome experience! I got two free t-shirts.
Before our service at the art festival, our ward combined in an activity with some other wards. I was able to see people who I met while serving in Ellerslie! One of them was the Baldrys family. They are the best. I love their family so much! They are so loving and especially love the missionaries. The Baldrys truly took care of me while I was in Ellerslie! They are a family that I am for sure going to visit after my mission.
Well, I hope you have all had an amazing week. I hope you have an amazing Independence day! I'll be celebrating it up here!! God Bless The USA!!!!!!!!!
