CRAZY story, my companion and I and another companionship went and did service at a homeless shelter this last week. It was awesome! Oh, and I don't know if I told you guys this, but I'm in the southeastern part of the city of Edmonton! Anyways, this shelter is like right in the middle of China town. So we do our thing and right in the middle of serving, two other volunteers come over and just start asking us a bunch of questions about our church. So all four of us taught these two amazing people about the restoration! Afterwards, we went to China town for lunch (haha)! We went to a Vietnamese noodle shop and got this gigantic bowl that was filled with noodles, meat and just a bunch of other things that were very interesting! After we ate, we were on our way back to the car and a homeless guy comes out of nowhere and says something like, "hey you got any food for a homeless guy like me?" So one of the other missionaries gave him his leftover soup. The homeless guy is like, "thanks man, your helping out the movement!" Then we walk a little closer to our car and the same guy shouts and asks if we want to buy his jacket and says it's for the "movement." We declined, but he was super persistent (haha). Then across the street some other homeless guy starts cussing out us missionaries and telling us to get the eff out of here (Haha)! Yeah, it was pretty intense, but we left safely and now we just laugh about it! Yeah, China town was pretty sketchy!!
Other than that event, everything else was pretty normal this week! For General Conference on Saturday, my whole district went to the High Council room. They have a giant touch screen TV, so we watched conference there (haha)! We all brought a bunch of snacks, but it's all ok because we cleaned up after ourselves! Then Sunday we went to a members house and they gave us crepes with ice cream in them and they were amazing! I will only eat crepes with ice cream now... (haha)! I guess I'll have regular ones, too, but they are way better with ice cream!! I loved all the talks, I know these wonderful people are called of God and they give God's word. I love this gospel and I'm so grateful for how it has blessed my life. I know it can bless anyone's life! I love and miss you all.

Love,

Elder Joseph Lunt
