They gave me one job....

They told me to make sure Namwon doesn't burn down while I was away for a week...
One job....
(this is dark joke)
One of the members house burnt down...
I failed.

In all seriousness hearing this news was so heart breaking. And we really need all of the prayers we can get. Thankfully nobody was injured. But very scary. However, I know that beautiful things rise from the ashes. The King of rising from the ashes is Jesus Christ. From the grave to resurrection, He is the Beacon and Ensign for our hope.
Our branch and stake have been working very hard to help him and his family. On Saturday we had a big stake activity and the stake president gave me a big bag of garments (sacred clothing items we wear as members under our clothes) for him and his wife. It was very moving for me to deliver the bag to him the next day in church and giving him a big hug. His name is Jeong-Man Lee (이정만) and the wife is Ok-Soon Kim (김옥순).
Turning my heart to the needs of this family has really helped me, because this week has been really hard for me. But I've heard that the effort of finding and helping someone going through a harder time than you will reap much more happiness. It's very true! On face value, you may never know who's dealing with a burnt-down house crisis... please love everyone. You NEVER know what they're going through.

This week I started training. Training means I'm companions with a new missionary. I was very shocked by how instant the added pressure felt when he arrived. I haven't dealt with this much stress quite-a-while. It's also pretty overwhelming because I have new responsibilities as a district leader. And I'm still continuing with my responsibilities as head of the English Connect team. When I first came to Namwon, it was a challenge to find things to fill our day with. Now, I think "do we even have time for dinner?"

But two scriptures have meant so much to me as I move forward this week:

Moroni 7:33 - And Christ hath said: If ye will have faith in me ye shall have power to do whatsoever thing is expedient in me.

1 Nephi 3:7 - "...I will go and do the things which the Lord hath commanded, for I know that the Lord giveth no commandments unto the children of men, save he shall prepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he commandeth them.

I believe in these scriptures. With all my heart. I know that everything that's thrown my way is something I can overcome. And I know that I need faith in order for that to happen. I know that is true for all of you too. When we are yoked with God, He will carry us over the most beautiful mountains 💙

I'm sorry, I have to go a lot earlier than I expected, but hey I still wrote a lot. I just wish we could spend the day together, we could experience the Korean life together! But I love writing to you every week, it makes me really really happy :))
And it makes me really really happy that you're reading this <33

I sure love you so much, have a fantastic week 💜💫
