🌤🌀Hope in a Typhoon🌀🌤

Fun Fact: I'm typing this while a typhoon is hitting Korea waaaaa but seriously please pray that the people will be safe and that the country will be able to repair and recover quicly and efficiently. Where I am and where my mission is, we will be safe and the impact we feel will be just lots of rain for the next 3 days. The typhoon will hit the southeast corner of the country, so please pray for them that their homes will be safe.

Last week I talked about starting a miralce journal. That I did! And guess what? I was able to see something everyday! I wanna share my favorite one: HARMONICA MAN!! Aka Peter! Last Monday, we went to meet a friend at the train station. While waiting, we heard a harmonica playing somewhere close by, which was super cool because it was my first time hearing a harmonica in Korea. Then we saw the man!! He is this super decked out 60-year old guy with the coolest tie and jacket and pants and hat combo. Then, while still playing, he came toward us and then he was right in front of us, and we were like "what is happening??" After a bit longer he finished his song and then in incredible English exclaimed for all to hear, "Wow, what a marvelous day it is to meet American missionaries in Korea to spread their gospel!" WHAT?! Was not expecting that in the slightest. We then had a really incredible conversation with him. Along with wanting to perfect his English, he expressed genuine interest in the Gospel! At one point he asked us, "Can you sum up your religion in 1 minute?", which we gladly did. We then exchanged numbers and he went on his merry way with his harmonica! And the coolest part is.....he actually kept contacting us!! This is rare, as so many times you meet really cool people in the street, and while they're super bold and tell you they want to meet again, the sad part is that you never hear from them again. But we've continued talking everyday with Peter. Since he lives in the Seoul metro area, we referred him to missionaries close to his home. He has an appointment set up with them and he's super excited!! I think the most meaningful part is that he has said ever since meeting us he has felt so much more light in his life, and he recognizes us as true servants of Jesus Christ 🌏❤

This week, I have had so many remarkable spiritual experiences, and it all came from one invitation 🔹️Our district leader invited us to pick a Christ-like attribute to study this week and strive to develop that attribute more🔹️ This week I honestly felt like I was in need of learning about and growing stronger in ✨️HOPE✨️ I really loved studying the Hope section in Preach My Gospel. "Hope is an abiding trust that the Lord will fulfilll His promises to you...When you have hope, you work through trials and difficulties with the confidence and assurance that all things will work together for your good....The unfaling source of our hope is that we are sons and daughters of God and that His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, saved us from death."
I also loved discovering Ether 12:32, which says that because of the promise of eternal life, "man might have a more excellent hope; wherefore man must hope, or he cannot receive an inheritance in the place which [God] hast prepared."

During this week, I faced a lot of sadness. Just, for no reason kinda of vibes. But because I had taken the time to study about hope, I knew what to do! Hang on to hope!! Hold on to your flame!! And I'm so grateful that I know where to look for hope in life, otherwise I'd be so distraught. But because of the Savior, we can 1) feel His peace and receive His strength while we wait for relief, and 2) we can EXPECT that He will heal our burdens and lift us❗️❗️❗️

This week I had a special special experience of feeling like the Savior was holding me and healing me, it felt so warm and I know it was true. And I know that if I didn't have the hope to endure during the really hard times before, I couldn't have been humble enough to be ready for His healing. And now, I'm seeing the world in such a wonderful and bright way. And it's just another reason why I'm infinitely grateful for the Atonement of my Savior and Healer Jesus Christ ❤️
And that experience wouldn't have happened if I didn't receive the invitation to choose a Christ-like attribute to focus on and study about! After seeing how this invitation blessed me, of course I want to extend this invitation to all of you!! Our goal is to become more and more like Jesus Christ! So let's do it!! I'm going to find a new attribute this week to work on, and I'll let you know how it goes! And I hope you can give yourself the chance to partake in this opportunity to finely focus your daily efforts in a more fortified way :)) Let me know how it goes for you! I promise that our love for the Savior will grow as we strive to be like Him, everyday, everyday 🤍🤍

Stay sweet 어려운 💫💜
