Dear friends and family, this week we had our first baptism. But not without trial. We were searching for Brother C and couldn't find him anywhere. We were searching and searching and he was nowhere to be
found. We asked one of his neighbors and he said that Michael does drugs and told us this crazy story about brother c and how he is some druggy and this and that. My companion believed him and was extremely sad. I questioned it because brother c had a stroke
and had bad health, so if he'd been using drugs he would of died. So we finally found him and learned that his neighbor was crazy and didn't even know him. when brother c was getting baptized, he forgot he had to go underwater, so he stood there and elder smith was like, Michael, you have to go under the water, and so he just tried to sit down to go under the water, and he didn't understand so elder smith grabbed him and like forced him under..... And then he couldn't come back up!! So we thought that he was going to drown him. BUt the baptism was so cool and Just to see him change was awesome.
Another crazy thing that happened is one of our investigators, a
man with a baptismal date, decided to drop us. We asked why and he told us that he is in love with Elder Smith!! It was so bad. We had no idea what to do so we asked all the way up to President Brough. And he told us we need to give him to the sisters to teach. It was really sad. Yesterday we were talking to this one lady and we walked with her for 7 miles because we would not give up on her. She thought that we were misguided and didn't know what we believed in. So we kindly straightened things out and we got a return appointment, for next month all in all it was a pretty crazy week. Oh and we also went on exchanges with a bike area, and it was 25 degrees outside. I thought I was going to die. So it was tough, and they don't have any investigators so we were biking the whole time. we got fed once and it was cool. It was by a young couple with six kids and one of them is deaf. It was fun.
I love you all and appreciate all the love
and support you all provide for me, I cannot wait to hear from you all.
Thought for the week:
People change. And only through the help of the members can it happen. Missionary work happens the best when the ward and the missionaries work together in harmony. God sends missionaries to help the people, and a way that we can help missionaries is introducing them to our friends and families who are willing to listen and follow the lessons we give.
