Fear is only Skin deep

Hey guys,

Well this week was a tough one for me mentally I wont lie! Its been a while since I have had a rough week but it has finally hit me this week! This week has felt extremely long but im glad its over!
It seemed like this last week was pretty busy overall, but not a lot of productivity occurred which happens sometimes. It is also starting to get very cold here in Constanta. It will probably start snowing next week! The wind that come off the Black Sea is brutal! Anyways Lets get to the action.

So Tuesday was an alright day because we didn't have much to do because non of our people we wanted to meet with could meet with us! We decided to go to City park and go contacting for a little bit and try to find some new people and we were not very successful. After City Park I went and did a language study and I got to learn more about past tense verbs and indicators and it was very helpful! After my hour of language study we had a lesson with one of our members, Sora Neetsika and that was a super funny experience! After reading the scriptures and talking about the scriptures we read with her, she asked me to give the closing prayer! As I was praying I was kind of struggling with finding the word I wanted to say in Romanian and so she decided to just take over my prayer and she started praying! It was super funny! When she prays though she prays for a good 20 minutes! After our lesson we met up with Jesse and Mario and we went and played some basketball because president Hettinger told us to go play as much basketball as possible and try to talk and meet up with the Nigerians! so that is what we did and it was pretty fun!

Wednesday was a crazy day! After our morning studies and getting ready we met up with Rares to try to spark an interest in the church! We met him at a place that had Billiards which was fun! Of course I won and beat Miller and Rares. After playing for a little bit we got to talk to him and he straight up told us that he has no interest and that he doesn't want to become one of us! So we will see what we can do with that as we continue to meet with him! After meeting up with Rares we got to meet up with a husband and wife (Sorrin and Elena) from our English class and we got to play Tennis! It was my first time ever playing competitive Tennis and it is extremely hard I wont lie! Sorrin and I were on a team and we took the lead early in the set but we ended up losing which sucked! We gave them a Book Of Mormon 2 weeks ago and they started reading it but they just aren't very interested which is pretty frustrating because they are such great people. They would be great members but they are very Orthodox. After meeting with them Elder Miller and I had Seminary with Sora Constantinescu and this was where I feel like my week got rough for me because I just got very frustrated with the language because it was all in Romanian and I was having the most difficult time speaking and I couldn't figure out what they were saying. She gave me scriptures to read and then I had to explain what I thought about them and I just couldn't do it. I became very frustrated and started getting very discouraged! After Seminary I went home and for the first time I just thought to myself, why am I out here doing this to myself and I started to be very selfish! I started to think of all the things I could be doing back home! I started thinking all about MYSELF and not the reason why im out here as a missionary! I completely forgot what my missionary purpose is. I just went to bed that night very frustrated and it kind of transferred throughout the whole week and im not happy or proud of that. I was mentally weak which isn't my mentality ever!

Thursday in the morning President Hanu asked us to go get new ink for the computer at the church so Miller and I had to go run and get a new Ink Carthage. After that we went and got some lunch and I had Texas BBQ Ribs which was amazing because I haven't had ribs in a very long time! It was excellent! After lunch Miller and I went contacting out at City Park and as we were walking we saw these people raking all these leaves so we look at each other and say let help them! I thought it was a great idea. So we helped these workers rake up a ton of leaves and they loved us for it! They were so interested in why we wanted to help them and we just told them we love service and wanted to serve you guys! Doing service for people is the best, It being so much joy to my heart! Making others smile and feel loved is the best! There is nothing better than making someones day or week better for them! We got to invite them to church and give them some #LightTheWorld cards and they loved it. We then went to the church to do a language study as usual everyday! I was extra motivated to learn this language because of the experience I had the other night so im all in! We then got to set up a tree in the church so it at least feels like Christmas a little bit lol!

Friday was a pretty busy day! We started it off by having District Meeting and we get to Skype in with the Ploiesti elders (huntsman and loder) for District Meetings now so that was fun. It was a very long District Meeting because we had a lot to talk about and a lot of goals to set! After our meeting we had a lesson with Mike and once again it was a good lesson with some crazy questions that are tough to answer because he knows so much deep doctrine that we don't really know! I have no idea where he finds most of his stuff! We got to talk about temples a little bit with him and that was super cool. He then started to ask questions about the temple and things that he saw inside and stuff on the internet and we just told him that we aren't aloud to talk about it because it is very sacred. We then got to watch a talk "What Is The Blueprint Of Christ Church" by Elder Tad R. Callister. It is amazing and hits all of us with so much wisdom on why our church is the true church and how it was created and everything! It was such a powerful resource. I would like everyone who is reading this right now to take time out of their day and to listen to this talk because it is that good!

After his lesson we had institute with Sora Constantinescu and this time it was in English because we had the Army guys with us. They all are from America and they are super cool! We got to talk about Adam and Eve and also Agency in seminary and I got some great points from that lesson! I will talk about that in my spiritual thought. After Seminary, Miller and I went to this other park to go talk to people and this one park had tons of Christmas lights up and we were super pumped! We eventually found out that the park was closed because a show was about to go on but we were still inside so we stayed inside until it started and once it started, I felt like I was in Disneyland because there were all kinds of lights and music and Disney characters. There were so many people that rushed in the gates once it opened It was wild! Brought back so many memories!

Saturday, was a very long day because we had nothing to do and so yeah Saturday pretty much sucked! I was able to get a good Language study in but other than that we didn't have any lessons or anything so it was very long!

Sunday was a quick day and a good day! We had church and there was a total of only 10 people there including Miller and I. Its tough being in a two man city and not a lot of people showing up because you have to do everything. Miller had to somehow play the piano hahaha and also had to lead. I had to bless and pass the sacrament! Also we had no speakers because Mario and Lacra decided not to show up and so that sucked. Elder Miller and President Hanu had to speak and then Sora Constantinescu gave a powerful testimony! I love Sundays! The Spirit that Sundays bring is amazing! Evening if your in a tiny branch and not in a big ward! The power of the Priesthood is something extremely amazing and something that i have come to learn more and love out here on my mission! Im so grateful for the Priesthood!

That's my week! I hope everyone has a great week! I love all of you guys! Stay Positive! Serve Others!

SPIRITUAL THOUGHT: (Adam And Eve/Agency)

Everyone thinks Eve is a bad person out here but personally I think that she had a lot of time to think about what she wanted to do for the decision she made by eating the fruit. No one knows how long they were in the garden and im sure by taking time and thinking about options her and Adam have, that by partaking of the fruit was the best option to be able to replenish the earth as god had commanded them to do! We all have our agency to pick and choose what we want to do everyday! We can either pick salvation or damnation! I think having the gift of Agency is one of the best gifts we can be given because we get to choose for ourselves!

Send me an email on what your guys thoughts are on this topic and these scriptures that I have provided! I would love to hear from you guys!!!!

ALMA 42: 6-10

6 But behold, it was appointed unto man to die—therefore, as they were cut off from the tree of life they should be cut off from the face of the earth—and man became lost forever, yea, they became fallen man.

7 And now, ye see by this that our first parents were cut off both temporally and spiritually from the presence of the Lord; and thus we see they became subjects to follow after their own will.

8 Now behold, it was not expedient that man should be reclaimed from this temporal death, for that would destroy the great plan of happiness.

9 Therefore, as the soul could never die, and the fall had brought upon all mankind a spiritual death as well as a temporal, that is, they were cut off from the presence of the Lord, it was expedient that mankind should be reclaimed from this spiritual death.

10 Therefore, as they had become carnal, sensual, and devilish, by nature, this probationary state became a state for them to prepare; it became a preparatory state.

2 Nephi 2: 14,16,26

14 And now, my sons, I speak unto you these things for your profit and learning; for there is a God, and he hath created all things, both the heavens and the earth, and all things that in them are, both things to act and things to be acted upon.

16 Wherefore, the Lord God gave unto man that he should act for himself. Wherefore, man could not act for himself save it should be that he was enticed by the one or the other.

26 And the Messiah cometh in the fulness of time, that he may redeem the children of men from the fall. And because that they are redeemed from the fall they have become free forever, knowing good from evil; to act for themselves and not to be acted upon, save it be by the punishment of the law at the great and last day, according to the commandments which God hath given.

2 Nephi 2: 26-29

26 And the Messiah cometh in the fulness of time, that he may redeem the children of men from the fall. And because that they are redeemed from the fall they have become free forever, knowing good from evil; to act for themselves and not to be acted upon, save it be by the punishment of the law at the great and last day, according to the commandments which God hath given.

27 Wherefore, men are free according to the flesh; and allthings are given them which are expedient unto man. And they are free to choose liberty and eternal life, through the great Mediator of all men, or to choose captivity and death, according to the captivity and power of the devil; for he seeketh that all men might be miserable like unto himself.

28 And now, my sons, I would that ye should look to the great Mediator, and hearken unto his great commandments; and be faithful unto his words, and choose eternal life, according to the will of his Holy Spirit;

29 And not choose eternal death, according to the will of the flesh and the evil which is therein, which giveth the spirit of the devil power to captivate, to bring you down to hell, that he may reign over you in his own kingdom.

Helaman 14: 30-31

30 And now remember, remember, my brethren, that whosoever perisheth, perisheth unto himself; and whosoever doeth iniquity, doeth it unto himself; for behold, ye are free; ye are permitted to act for yourselves; for behold, God hath given unto you a knowledge and he hath made you free.

31 He hath given unto you that ye might know good from evil, and he hath given unto you that ye might choose life or death; and ye can do good and be restored unto that which is good, or have that which is good restored unto you; or ye can do evil, and have that which is evil restored

3 Nephi 27:13

13 Behold I have given unto you my gospel, and this is the gospel which I have given unto you—that I came into the world to do the will of my Father, because my Father sent me.
