Hey y'all how's it going in the BIG city? We had transfers this week and turns out I must have not done so good the last couple transfers because they are leaving me here in the Richmond stake... if you ask the members hey are happy to keep me, I'm still trying to figure out why that is?! But this week has been pretty lit for this area!! On the fourth we were outside cooking all day in the sun out in Lewiston. We went to a rodeo with one of our investigators and he was trying so hard to get me to ride the saddleback bronco, I told him I can't right now but next year I'm down!! Then we were in another stinking parade that lasted 1+1/2 hours!!! I was so done by the last turn and the members all noticed that.(I had to pee really bad from the beginning, and sitting there for almost two hours chugging a big gulp makes misery!) After those festivities ended we went over to our stake presidents and hung out with the fam...elder walker(my last comp) came through with his family on their way to Oregon. That was fun and made me realize I can totally wait to see my family!!! That night our mission president called and told us we were staying in Richmond and the stake president was so happy to hear that....first thing he said to me was "dude your gonna be here for a while, they ain't gonna whitewash it!" #6monthpossibility!
So along with the work....raikens mom gave permission for him to get baptized, so that will be happening in Preston in a couple weeks, 13 weeks working with him is finally paying off!!! Then there is the the case family... so we had a lesson with them Thursday and it was definitely an interesting one: we fed their baby calves, Peanut(younger son) threw a huge rock at my shin *almost swore but didnt* then we ended up sharing a super quick message and inviting them to church! DAD AND GAVIN CAME!!!! Peanut was 'sick' but we are working with them and seeing tons of progress. The mom told us the boys look up to us a ton and are always super excited when they hear we're coming over (prolly just cause they know we will help with cows) so now we're gonna invite Gavin and peanut to move forward and get baptized! I love being a missionary and seeing the growth and blessings that come as people accept and live the gospel. Just a though I wanted to share really briefly is something I apply as often as I can...and this comes from a talk by elder Joseph b wirthlin called Come What May and Love it! In this talk he speaks about how we should react to the adversities we face in life...the first suggestion he gives is to just learn to laugh!!! I just want to invite y'all to do that, just laugh..don't get mad! He said, "The next time you’re tempted to groan, you might try to laugh instead. It will extend your life and make the lives of all those around you more enjoyable." Apply that as I am trying to ring now! It makes everything fun and amusing, love y'all have an amazeballs week!!!
