Kwun Tong

Elder Rodriguez

This week was a pretty good one here in Kwun Tong. We went finding, I went on exchanges with the assistants, and the transfer calls came in. The transfer was pretty anti-climactic: I'll be staying with Elder Rodriguez in Kwun Tong. Actually, our zone only had one change this transfer.

Anyway, this week I went on exchanges with Elder Hayden, and it was pretty neat. Elder Hayden is the assistant and he's a rock solid missionary. He goes home this week but it was quite impressive to see how he worked. He is actually a Mandarin Missionary, but he still went crazy using Cantonese to find and teach in a language that he wasn't even called to speak.

Also this Saturday was a odd day. We had 3 lessons cancel on us, we were proselyted to by the Jehovah's Witnesses, and we ran into a ton of crazy people, but right as we were getting ready to head home, a guy stopped us and asked "Hey are you Mormons?" We then found out that he's actually looking to find out the true church and we were able to teach him the restoration on the spot! We invited him to church and he said he couldn't come, but then the next morning he messaged us and was like "I can come" so we got bring him to church.

While we were teaching he asked what one of our favorite scriptures was. One that came to my mind was 3 Nephi 27:14-16 Christ states "And my Father sent me that I might be lifted up upon the cross; and after that I had been lifted up upon the cross, that I might draw all men unto me, that as I have been lifted up by men even so should men be lifted up by the Father, to stand before me, to be judged of their works, whether they be good or whether they be evil— And for this cause have I been lifted up; therefore, according to the power of the Father I will draw all men unto me, that they may be judged according to their works. And it shall come to pass, that whoso repenteth and is baptized in my name shall be filled; and if he endureth to the end, behold, him will I hold guiltless before my Father at that day when I shall stand to judge the world."

I love this scripture and the opportunity to testify of Christ! I love being able to help bring people to the knowledge that they have a loving Savior and Redeemer who is willing to forgive us and allow us to be held guiltless at the last day!

Anyway, this week was great! Hope Y'all have a great week!

Elder Ashton

Fun fact 1: Most of his pictures were from a trip last p-day to Ocean Park.

Fun fact 2: He said that some crazy guy tried to do some kind of Kung Fu on him (he was not harmed in this attempt!) and there were lots of crazies that day so they moved to another area to find!

Fun fact 3: He says that he thinks they have reduced the roach population slightly in the apartment. He hasn't found a roach on his desk for 2 whole weeks.
