Kowloon City

Elder Madsen

This week has been a crazy one here in Hong Kong, but things are super exciting.

First off, I'm now in a tri-companionship with Elder Liu and Thomas and we are covering Tsim Sha Tsui as well as Kowloon City areas now. Originally it was just supposed to be Elder Thomas and I over Kowloon city but on the day before transfers we had an emergency switch and we ended up also being companions with Elder Liu and whitewashing Tsim Sha Tsui on top of covering Kowloon City. So to put things simply, it's been hectic.

It has been really fun for the past few days though, definitely a unique challenge. Also, we got a new mission president this week as well. We get to meet him tomorrow so we'll see how it goes. Anyway, I think this transfer will be a really great opportunity to learn and grow.

Also, one neat thing that happened this week. One of the sisters from my group finished her mission this week and her family came to church on Sunday so I got to translate for them. It's crazy to see how much I've improved since the beginning! I remember being in the MTC and thinking that I'd never understand what was going on, but now I can translate for people. The gift of tongues is real!

Anyway, next week should be good! Have a great week!加油!

Elder Ashton

Fun fact 1: His companion Elder Thomas is from Hurricane, Utah, and his other companion Elder Liu is an American born Chinese (his parents are from Hong Kong) from Sandy Utah.

Fun fact 2: At the time he sent the letter he hadn't yet met the new president but heard from the office elders that he was cool.

Fun fact 3: The parents of the sister who visited the mission sent a picture of them with the missionaries.
