Another Fantastic Week!

Howdy,

Hey,

So these days have been pretty good here in Kowloon City. This week we found a new person to teach, had our second zone conference this transfer, and I went on exchanges to my first area.

Zone conference was pretty cool. We talked a lot about obedience and then we had a super long training on how to use the digital area book/planner app. It was pretty neat but now we have to spend a bunch of time turning our paper area books into digital area books.

Anyway, things have been good. This week one thing that has stood out to me was D&C 6:36 "Look unto me in every thought; doubt not, fear not." As we look to the Lord without doubt we can accomplish miracles, but our doubts and fears can become obstacles to our progression. I love how this principle is illustrated in the New Testament. In Matthew 14 it tells the story of Christ feeding the 5000, and immediately following that miracle we have the story of Christ walking on water. It is interesting to note how as the 12 apostles, especially Peter, see the Lord performing these miracles it increases their faith as they come to understand that the Lord has all power and that he can do anything. With that faith Peter looks unto the Lord and is able to walk on water, but as he begins to doubt he sinks. In our lives we can have perfect faith in the Lord, even seeing miracles, but as we fear or let doubt come into our lives we begin to sink and we are not able to access the power of Christ.

Hopefully that makes sense. Anyway, hope you have a great week! Add Oil!

Sincerely,
Elder Ashton

Fun fact 1: Elder Ashton mentioned where they were intending to go on p-day and then sent tons of pictures (from last week) and didn't go into detail. But Google is our friend. A bunch of pictures show he went to Cheung Chau last week.

Fun fact 2: Cheung Chau is an island where they visited Cheung Po Tsai Cave-where supposedly a pirate used to stash his treasure.

Fun fact 3: They had Stake Conference and he's in the same stake as the original ward he started in Hong Kong so he saw some of the members from TKO-and one sent pictures.

You can email Elder Ashton at joel.ashton@myldsmail.net.

If you would like to send him regular mail:
