Last interview ever (with President Lam)

Hey,

This week has been a pretty lit one here in Hong Kong 🇭🇰. Not too much crazy going on but as you can probably tell this week we had our last round of interviews with President Lam. They were really good. I'll miss President Lam; he's so awesome.

Things are good though. This week one thing that stuck out was actually from Sunday school. This week we didn't have any investigators that could come to church so instead of Gospel principles we went to youth Sunday School. We talked about doing the will of the Lord and fulfilling whatever calling the Lord has for us. One thing that stuck out was that we need to support and sustain our leaders even if we feel that they aren't doing things the way we think they should be done. In a talk by President Uchtdorf in 2008 he said of a piano "Brethren, stand close together and lift where you stand." If you have a bunch of people lifting a piano and doing their part, lifting a huge piano becomes a lot easier. What we forget sometimes is that the people filling the callings in the church are just people and they all have weaknesses, but if we are willing to support and sustain them, they will be far more capable of magnifying their calling than if we were opposing what they were doing.

Hopefully that made sense. Anyways hope y'all have a good week! Add Oil!

Sincerely,
Elder Ashton

Fun fact 1: It's been hot but he said that this week was cooler and they had a mild typhoon, so it rained a lot. He even sent a video of pouring rain.

Fun fact 2: His current area he says is mostly buildings, residential and business.

Fun fact 3: He says they are trying to find people to teach and that the ones they are working with now he called "eternigators", which I'm guessing that means they are eternally investigators.

Fun fact 4: President Lam is just about to finish up 3 years as the mission president in Hong Kong. He and his wife will be replaced by a Brother and Sister Phillips. Here's a link to a bio on them (scroll down): https://www.lds.org/church/news/new-2018-mission-presidents-called-to-china-indonesia-france-and-more?lang=eng
