Elder Adams

Hey, it's me again!

Hello from the fantastic paradise that is TKO!

This week was a pretty good one here in TKO. This week was full of missionary work like pretty much every other week here in Hong Kong.

This week we turned over one of our new investigators to the Po Lam elders; sad for us, but she's where she needs to be now so that's great. Also, this week we had our Stake Christmas activity in Ho Man Tin, which was super fun. We got to sing for the stake--it was great. They gave me one of those headset microphones and I felt just like my trainer Elder Love probably felt in his boy band days. It was great.

Also, even better was the fact that I got to work with one of the cutest Primaries in the whole world, which was such a treat. This week I was reading sister Oscarson's talk form this most recent general conference and it really stuck out to me. She said "I think that sometimes it’s easy to miss some of the greatest opportunities to serve others because we are distracted or because we are looking for ambitious ways to change the world and we don’t see that some of the most significant needs we can meet are within our own families, among our friends, in our wards, and in our communities." I thought that was very profound. Sometimes we get so focused on one type of service that we forget the small acts of service around us in our daily lives.

Anyway, I hope we can all look around us and discern the needs of those in our lives and strive to become better disciples of Jesus Christ.

Have a good week! Add oil!

Sincerely,
Elder Ashton

Fun fact 1: Elder Ashton sent a lot of pictures this week. They looked like they had a lot of fun with riding around double tandem bikes along a reservoir, to singing in the Christmas program for their stake activity.

Fun fact 2: He asked for the sugar cookie recipe we make because they are doing an end of year English party (probably for his English class) and they're going to decorate cookies. So Grammie and Great Grandma Shirtz, whose recipes mom's comes from, will be happy to know their cookies are all over the world now. (Elder Ashton's sister baked some this week too!)

Fun fact 3: He took a picture but did not comment on whether or not the Hot Chile Squid flavored potato chips were good or not!
