Mission Tour

Hey everybody,

This week was a fantastic one here in the beloved TKO. First off, we had mission tour this week (a big missionary meeting) and it was awesome! We had Elder Evans from the Asia area presidency and the 1st quorum of the seventy train us for like 8 hours. It was awesome; he talked a lot about finding and had a ton of really good insights.

One thing he really emphasized was listening and asking everybody for referrals. They seem like pretty simple things on paper but in reality, they can be pretty difficult. One thing that stuck out to me was that he pointed out the things like street contacting and finding through what is the stereotype of missionary work doesn't actually show up until 12 pages into the finding section of the Preach my Gospel. It's interesting that there is so much else we can do to find people; things that a lot of missionaries overlook. He told us about how we need to do the work the Lords way and not any other way.

I was thinking about how many times in life we just rely on our own wisdom instead of the Lord. As soon as we start doing things the Lord's way we start to open the windows of heaven and allow for blessings to flow. It was great. Also, I love TKO ward they are the best! I am so happy I get to serve with such fantastic members and that I have had the opportunity to be here so long.

Anyway, I hope y'all have a fantastic week and have some opportunities to share the Gospel!

Sincerely,
Elder Ashton 歐長老

Fun fact 1: Elder Ashton did not caption his photos this week-apparently the missionaries were somewhere near a Lego store and went to McDonalds! (Elder Ashton loved legos and Legoland as a kid, and McDonalds. Good to know he's still young at heart. ) Also, members shared some photos from an activity where Elders acted out the story of Nephi and his broken bow, and there were puzzles.

Fun fact 2: If all goes well, Elder Ashton's dad will be visiting Hong Kong briefly at the end of the week. It's unlikely he will cross paths with him but he is dropping off treats!

Fun fact 3: Elder Ashton mentioned that they have a couple new investigators they found this week so that's awesome!
