Elder Toone

After conference

Hello Everyone! I love conference weekend and being on your mission makes it so much better! I love the challenge we were given directly from our prophet to study over the conference talks for the next 6 months until next conference! As far as I can remember, I don't recall them saying something that specific in other conferences...but I probably just wasn't paying attention though.... oops! I am very excited as well for the new directive to let the young women become a part of "Ministering" with the Relief Society. I think it will help them prepare for missions like home teaching did for the young men! It is a great opportunity to love and serve those women in the ward at a young age and see the blessings that can come from Christlike service!
My week has been pretty good if I do say so myself! I was able to go on an exchange with the Zone Leaders this week so they could evaluate me and help me to be a better District Leader! I love the Elder I went with and he would have to be one of my favorite Elders! (other than my trainer Elder Webb). His name is Elder Reed and he is from Utah! We are great friends and he is such an example to me of the kind of missionary I want to be! He makes everyone around him feel like he genuinely loves them and always has the best attitude when it comes to everything! We talked about how I can better the area here in Rockdale, as well as my companionship with Elder Toone! I got a lot of great advice from him and experiences that he shared from companions that he didn't get along with the best either! Something I have come to realize is that I just need to be more like Christ and show him the kind of love that Christ would! That doesn't mean I can't encourage him to do more, but it does mean that I have to love and serve him with all my heart! We have been teaching a couple people but they are basically all the same as last week! We have met a new lady named Jayde and she is awesome! We met her in the apartments next to our church building and they seem like they could really benefit from the gospel (just like everyone could)! We have been trying to meet with Amanda and Ryan Duncan but they have been really busy lately and it has been hard to get in with them! She is the one who told us that she wants to convert and have her kids grow up in the church to go on missions! They are a solid family and have come to church for the past 2 months!
The other missionaries in the District are doing great and I have actually have an exchange scheduled on Wednesday with one of the Elders from the District! I think that is the fun part about being District Leader is the chance I get to be with each individual missionary at least once a transfer! I guess you could say I am surviving being District leader...... Just kidding I LOVE IT!!! It is so great but sometimes stressful! I love the chance that I have to learn so much as I try to become the best leader I can be! It is funny because people think that you should know so much but really I learn more being the District leader from my District than they do from me! My biggest challenge is having to balance District stuff with stuff in my own area and things with my companion! But other than that, things are going great! I love the mission and I am learning so much not only about the gospel but about life! It is truly a blessing to be on a mission!
I love you all! I hope that you guys have the best week ever in the whole world! Thanks for all you do for me and making sure that I have everything I need! I'll try to keep sending pictures of my mission but sometimes I forget! I love you!!!!
