Crazy week

Hello Everyone. After reading my mom's email and hearing about her crazy week, it made me think that Heavenly Father sometimes has a strange way of doing things! We might not know and may never figure out the reason for certain things, but we have to have faith that he has a plan for us and that His will is what we need!
I love that story about Helaman and the two thousand stripling warriors! Like honestly such a testament to me of faith and trust! If you look at their example, they were clearly out numbered and the odds looked bad. But, they had faith that the lord would preserve them and through that faith they were kept from the hands of the Lamanites whose soul purpose was to destroy them! I often look at the example that I have of Helaman in my life! My parents, friends, youth leaders, teachers...the list could go on! The stripling warriors are a great example of faith, but they got it from their fearless leader! He taught them what is was to have faith and showed them that when we rely on the Lord, nothing is impossible! I am grateful for the examples I have had in my life every day! I look to lessons that I learned throughout my life and put them into practice at least once a day and I know that without your examples I would not be half the person that I am today!
This week has been eventful with doctors appointments and such so it was kind of stressful! But real quick I want to share one of the best moments from the week and also a spiritual thought that really hit me as well!
First, the moment! So we have been working with the Duncan family. They are a family that consist of the husband and wife and their two kids! Well they have been having some struggles lately with the kids so they are not with them at the moment. But, as for the husband and wife, they are doing great! The husband is a returning less active who has grown up in the church but now left while the wife is a non member! They have been attending the branch now for the past 4 weeks and have been there every Sunday when possible! It has been cool to see their desire to learn more and watch them grow in their faith in the Savior! The wife voiced to us that she wants to convert! We received a text last week about Wednesday (before our lesson Friday) saying, "I want to start taking the classes now so that I can convert to the gospel."! How cool right? Like that will not happen a lot on a mission but I am grateful for the success we are seeing here in Rockdale as we put forth the effort to be diligent and obedient in all that we do! The best thing you can ever do is give your best and I am a strong believer of that!
The spiritual thought this week comes from my personal studies where I have been reading in 3 Nephi the last week! I read in 3 Nephi 27 where it talks about Christ telling the people to call the church in his name! I love where he gives an explanation of this during the chapter! He states that they are supposed to call the church after his name because we do all ordinances and everything in his name! So basically why would we not call the church after him! Also he states, that is we were to call it the Church of Moses than it would be Moses' church or if we were to call it the church after the name of a man than it means that it is man's church! So I just thought it was very interesting and cool how in 3 Nephi we get taught the reasoning behind a lot of different things and without the Book of Mormon would be very vague in the sight of man! It is a true testament to me that the Book of Mormon if true and I love it with all my heart!
Being a missionary is not easy, but it has blessed my life in more ways than I will ever be able to give thanks for! I know that this church is true and that through our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, we can receive answers for the questions that we have each day! Thank you all for the examples that you set for me and the support that you send my way! It truly means more than you think!
