Hello mom. I love getting your letters each week and hearing how everyone is doing! I have the best family in the world. I did see the email grandma sent me! It made me sad that she had to spend Thanksgiving alone with Grandpa because she was sick. She was like my best friend and I miss going to her house for lunch during school. She always took care of me and made me feel loved! I'm glad to hear that Grandpa is doing better! That way he can help out grandma! Calli really is a life saver and it is so cool of her to be grandma's personal assistant! Glad we have such great neighbors who are so Christ-like! I will definitely write grandma this week! I write everyone that writes me and I love getting emails each week!
For Thanksgiving, , we were able to go to a members house and eat with them! It was definitely not your traditional Thanksgiving dinner because we are in a Hispanic area. We had soup and enchiladas and it didn't quite taste the same as turkey and stuffing, but that's alright! It was really good! I have so much to be thankful for! I am so thankful for my family and the ones I love! I don't know how I got so lucky to have such an amazing family who are all great examples to me and keep me going! It can definitely be hard here in the mission field, but you guys really help and I am so grateful for all you do! If I can even just be a fraction of how Dad is I think I would be pretty lucky! He really is the best father and my best friend! I miss our bedtime talks!!
Thanks for the missionary quotes from the prophets that you heard in Sunday School! I'm glad Brother Lindley taught about missionary work because he is someone that would totally understand! Member missionary work is something we really try to stress here. Getting the members out on visits with us is so helpful because when they come, the most spiritual things tend to happen and the investigators really feel the power of their testimonies! We need to be striving to find missionary moments throughout our lives to share the gospel and help those see the power of it in our lives! We can make a difference without even being a "missionary" if we just look for those moments and capitalize on them when they arise! I know that sometimes it can be scary, but if we truly trust in the Lord, He will tell us what to do and say! I love member missionary work and wish it was bigger in Utah! I see why it is hard though because missionaries have to cover so many wards! Which is why I had no idea who the missionaries in our ward even were! But it really makes a difference and I can see the work hastening here when we get members going with us!
I love you all so much and miss you even more! Life isn't the same here without my family here to joke with! But I am finally feeling a little settled and time is starting to flow which can be nice! This past week was a little hard due to Thanksgiving because I have never been away from my family during the holidays! But it is getting better and the work is really going great! I promise mom that I always give my best effort everyday and will return with no regrets! I've seen how much one person can impact another's life, and I want to be the missionary that people can look back on and say that I made a difference! I want everyone who I come in contact with to know how much I love my Heavenly Father and how happy I am to be a member of the church!
My address is 2104 East Anderson Ln. 78752, Austin, Texas, Apt. 2116. That is the address you will be sending packages to! My actual one is 9601 middlefiskville rd...But send everything to the East Anderson one because it is safer! My street is kinda scary.. but oh well. I love being a missionary! Love you mom! Good luck with Sub 4 Santa...I know that's a busy time for you but you always make the school look awesome! Everyone loves how much effort you put in to making the holidays special at Timpanogos.
I hope you have the best week ever!!!!
