I need journal paper really bad. I'm almost out so, I need you to go buy me some at the Deseret Book or wherever it is that you get it. Also, please put money on my card for me to buy a rain coat...I have one out here from an old missionary but it's horrible and gets soaked after about 5 minutes haha and Elder McCall is from Burley Idaho.
So my letter for the week!
This last week was awesome! We got to meet with the Grace Family again and taught them the plan of salvation. At the end, we set a date for November 22nd! And then after the lesson we had Victoria pray at the end, she did amazing too for a first prayer, we invited them to come to church on Sunday and they all committed to coming. On Sunday we didn't see them and church was getting close to starting so I got really nervous, but they showed up:) We got them a seat as close up as we could to the sacrament table, The second seat in the front is actually the most important seat in the whole church, I learned that from a talk that one of the members of the Quorum of the 70 gave here at zone conference. The second seat has the strongest spirit in the whole chapel. So we sit down and go through all of sacrament and after that they went to the last 2 hours and then at the end I asked Dyelen if he liked it, and his first response was, "Yes I loved it. We'll be coming back every week!" haha so the Grace family is doing amazing, I love teaching them and I'm growing really close to the family...It's going to make it really hard when I leave.. When I actually look at how prepared the Graces were by God it just blows me away, The only reason we met them is because another investigator didn't want to answer his door, the only reason we saw them is because we started to walk down the street to find someone else in our path. This just testifies that everything is done for a reason, every action, every thought, and just anything! It's all promptings of the spirit, the spirit truly directs everything we do. The one thing that amazes me the most is our area is one of the smallest areas in the mission, It's seriously about 2 miles wide at the most, and the neighborhoods have been tracked for years and years. The Graces have lived here for years and years. How is it that they never stumbled across two missionaries before? And they've been looking for a church and they've never found ours till now? It really is a miracle that we found them. I have a strong testimony that God does perform miracles, He prepares everyone in their own way. He watches over us and cares for us very dearly and He answers each and every one of our prayers.
We picked up two more new investigators, the Groves, Naida and Garry. We've actually been trying to see them since last transfer but Naida would never open the door to us. One day, we finally caught them on a walk and were able to set up a time to meet, when we met them it was really interesting...they just started firing off questions they had. They probably had over 50 and I know we answered way more questions then that. But a lot of the questions came from false information. one of the questions was "How do all your moms feel about not being the only mother in the home?" we laughed really hard and told them we don't practice polygamy and that we only have one mom each. The other questions were about whether women were being treated fairly or not in our church. After we answered all the questions, they finally calmed down and then got really excited to learn hah, we set up a return appointment and they really want to come to church. we told them our church is very family oriented and they really liked hearing that..so just pray that their hearts will be softened!
Now for a scripture:)
3 Nephi 12:44 "But behold I say unto you, love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them who despitefully use you and persecute you;" This is an amazing scripture, I think it's amazing how much charity Christ showed to people, if we could all show this amount of love to everyone just imagine the spirit you'd have! Pray for you enemies, and love and care for them, you never know what they might be going through or what there story is, show kindness in all that you do! hah
I love you all, thank you for you emails I love getting them:) Anyone who writes me just thank you very much, It always puts a huge smile on my face seeing letters from home!
Love Elder Warnick!
