First email coming from the smartphone. What a life. Things are about to get hopping in Pärnu I promise you that.
Good solid week though. First impressions however,
God is preparing Estonia. He is laboring in His vineyard with us and he is preparing the people of Estonia and well, around the world. Just little miracles continue to pop up and more people with a growing interest in the Kingdom of God.
Tuesday we had a great lesson with a lady that we knocked into in her backyard. Her name was Kadri. She was so kind. We taught the Restoration and after we tell her the First Vision and Joseph Smith was called to be a prophet and restore the church she was like wow that is really really important and special. He must have had a lot of responsibility because that is important. And we were like exactly that is why we came here to tell you this! She was totally on board with having a living prophet and the Book of Mormon and was excited to read. Then at the end we try to commit her to praying about the Book of Mormon and if we can meet up again and then she says, you know if it's God's will then we'll see each other again.
That's it. Went full Estonian on us. Completely passive. Just hit us with the hardest maybe ever. I don't get it. This is the salvation of your soul people!!! God's hand is always outstretched but the longer you wait to come unto Christ the more blessings you are forfeiting. But God has a plan for everyone individually and He will never force us to do anything. This life is about us deciding what we need to do. We have agency and we must decide to disciples of Christ.
Elder Renlund: "But God is not interested in His children just becoming trained and obedient “pets” who will not chew on His slippers in the celestial living room. No, God wants His children to grow up spiritually and join Him in the family business."
Anyways, we had a very interesting English night the next day when we taught them card games. The things people know in English always amaze me. One person who attends can talk about the" political atmosphere" of Estonia but the question "what is your favorite animal" threw him for a loop.
Thursday we did a bunch of service in people's gardens. Estonia is so peaceful and full of beautiful nature. Too bad it is covered in snow like half the year. Also first day I could wear a t shirt and boy I got so white. Not good.
Saturday we had zone conference and we got our smartphone training as well as the Holy Ghost blowing my mind when President speaks as always. Then we went hard as always playing basketball for sports night.
Easter Sunday was beautiful and we had an amazing service. A few less actives and former investigators came in so it was a super successful and awesome day of church. We visited a member who's bit out of Pärnu in the beautiful country side. Her house backs up to the river, it's so peaceful and gorgeous. We also got to talk to her brother who is a basketball player in Czekia, trying to go to America to play in college. Super cool guy. Speaking estonglish with people is always amazing.
Because of Christ we don't have to deal with all our pains alone. We can rely on our Savior and His Atonement. He lives and so through Him we will live again as well. Christ lives! Come unto Him!!!
Also, we just got Facebook so feel free to add me, I can only respond Mondays but I'm happy to share the gospel on Facebook now!
