Elder Goddard

Hola a todos, This week was a pretty great week. Me and my companion have been working really, really hard with the people that we are currently teaching. We have a few new people.

1. One of the highlights from this week was that on Friday President Isom headed out back home and on Thursday the new mission president, President Meek arrived with his wife. They seem like they are very ready to work hard and help to keep progressing the mission CHILE OSORNO (the best mission in the world by the way haha)

2. We were also able to have a great activity this week with the ward. We were able to help a few of the members and people learn more about what is Family search, Family history, and Geneology. A sister named Nadia gave us a lesson about it. She explained something that I hadn't thought about it the same way before. So, geneology is putting in data, for example dates: death dates, marriage dates, etc. But Family History is knowing the history, stories or other things about our ancestors. It is something that I didn't do as much as I should have before the mission and I will be trying to do more when I return.

3. During the mission we all learn so many things and even learn things that I didn't expect to learn while here. For example, I learned that time is so essential. There is so many things that you can do in 1 or 2 hours but you can also spend that time so quickly. We are allowed to only have 24 hours every day and we usually sleep between 6 - 8 hours during everyday.

4. Related to using time wisely this week I was studying a few talks from general conference in April. I was reading the talk "Build a Fortress of Spirituality and Protection" by Elder Rasband. He doesn't necessarily talk specifically on how we use our time but we can closely relate it. ''We should have integrity in all that we do. We should develop discernment and discipline so that we do not have to continually determine what is right and what is wrong. We should take to heart the words of Peter, the early Church Apostle, who cautioned, 'Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.' As we diligently strengthen our fortifications, we become like Jesus Christ, as His true disciples, with our very souls in His protection." I truly know that me must be very diligent in how we use our time because the devil really wants to take as much advantage of us as he can. I know that God lives and He has a plan for us. He works in mysterious ways but in the BEST way.

I hope you all have a great week and hope you know that I love you all because you are all my brothers and sisters. hasta semana chao

Elder Stirling
