This week has been a solid week for the Work. Being sick for a week helped me realize that I really do want to be here doing the work. That realization has allowed me to have a better mindset in the Work, and I feel much more comfortable teaching and just being a missionary in general.
Earlier this week we found a sweet Latino lady named Imelia. She's around late 40s and is about 6 inches shorter than me. We found her trying to contact another of our referrals, and she's totally interested in learning more. I haven't had the opportunity to teach her yet, since Elder Patterson and Elder Bankhead taught her on an exchange. We have a lesson set up with her tonight, so we're really excited about that!
Like I mentioned, I've seen a lot of change in my attitude and my desires to go out and do the work. Before getting sick I felt like I sometimes went out to go work because we had a certain amount of hours left in the day—not all the time, but some days I felt like that—and now I feel like I'm completely different in my focus. The work is good, and Heavenly Father is blessing us in the work.
I want to testify to you that Heavenly Father can help us change. I've realized this past week more than before that this is a gospel of change. If we're not progressing, we're digressing. I know that the Lord works through us because he needs and wants us to learn and grow. He will help us find the things we need to work on to become more like Him.
