Week 75
This week absolutely flew by! I don’t know what it is about this time of year, but it’s scary how quickly time is passing! This past week felt like a blink.
We had MLC again this past week, and it was great! I don’t ever remember explaining what MLC actually is, so here it goes! Mission Leadership Council (MLC) is held every transfer cycle at the mission home, and is comprised of the zone leaders and sister training leaders from across the mission. We meet with President and Sister Tateoka, and the mission assistants to be trained on how to become more effective missionaries, and to help us be prepared for the upcoming Zone Conference. We learned a lot, and had a blast! I’ve gained a strong testimony that President Tateoka is inspired, and is led by the Lord.
The rest of the week was tons of finding, and lots of lessons. We have an older Investigator named Margaret, who has read many times from the Book of Mormon and has had most of the discussions at this point. We had a church tour with her this past week, and it went very well! The spirit was strong as we showed her around the humble little building, and she understood the significance of the sacrament! She’s so awesome! She didn’t come to church yesterday, but is planning on coming this coming week! We also met a young man named Angel earlier this week. Elder Hunziker and I have been focusing on teaching more simply, and we had the opportunity to teach the restoration to Angel on his front step in 5 minutes! The Lord gave us opportunities to practice what we’ve worked on, for which I’m very grateful. I’m continuing to learn so much from Elder Hunziker and the Elders around me. It’s a great time to be a missionary!
We had an exchange with Silverton this past week! That was a fun time! Elder Hinck, the district leader, and I stayed here in Salem 1st. He’s a stud! He’s confident, full of desire to work, and truly wants the missionaries in his district to learn, grow, and become better. He’s so willing to learn, and wants to become better. And, he was also trained by Elder Patterson!! It was fun to bring him up on the exchange! I learned a ton from him, and I’m so glad he and I were on exchanges together.
Other than that, its been lots of talking to people, teaching, and having a blast! I love my mission! I know that I’m supposed to be here, and that I’m touching the lives of God’s children who have been specifically placed in my path for a reason. I love helping them come closer to Him!
Have a wonderful week everyone! I love you all!
Love,
Elder Kehl
