Week 68

Merry Christmas everyone! I hope everyone is having a great Christmas morning with family, opening presents and being together!

This past week for us was a little slow, I'll admit. Tuesday was our December Zone Conference/Talent Show here at the Stake Center with the Salem and Lebanon Zones! That was such a fun time! Elder Kersten and I spent most of Monday night and all of Tuesday morning (zone conference started at noon) finishing the setup. I woke up that morning feeling really sick (super bad classic cold/flu symptoms) and definitely sounded a couple octaves lower! :D The entire zone conference was great, and we had a ton of really cool talents! A lot of missionaries showcased artwork, we had origami, poetry, and musical numbers. On the funnier side of things, we had a missionary bench-press his companion, and another stuff his face with marshmallows! All in all, a great day!

Tuesday through Friday I was cooped up in bed sick as a dog! It wasn't the most fun thing ever, but somehow Elder Kersten got through it all ;) On Friday Elder Wuthrich got sick too--probably from the fact I was in the apartment--and Elder Johnson and Elder Kersten had a mini-exchange so they could go out and work.

Saturday was pretty good! We got out of the apartment to go look for a couple of our investigators we hadn't seen all week (go figure), which was nice for the first couple of minutes until I realized how cold and wet it was. We contacted some people, and kept at it until lunch. After eating we had weekly planning (just a few days late) and did a lot of online proselyting things, so we could stay inside and actually have contact with people. We had an amazing lesson with our investigator Rocko on Saturday, where we read the entire The Family: A Proclamation to the World, and it answered all his questions, THEN we taught him the whole Plan of Salvation, which he absolutely loved! He wasn't able to come to church yesterday, but he's so solid! He's 23, so we're about to refer him to the Salem YSA Elders, and we're excited to see where he goes!

Yesterday was bomb! We had a special sacrament meeting, which involved a lot of musical numbers from the ward choir, the primary, and a family that's very musically inclined. After that, we continued contacting people throughout the day, and had dinner at the Brock's. It was so epic! They totally spoiled us too! We had a sweet lesson with John, Gina, and the girls to end the night!

All in all, not a bad week, and I'm grateful we were able to touch peoples' lives!

I love you all! Merry Christmas! Have a great week!!

Love,

Elder Kehl
