I'm staying! Elder Chamberlain is getting transferred to Redmond SP! I'm sad to see him go, but he's pumped to go back Spanish! So, I'm taking over the area! I'm pumped, but also a little nervous. Elder Kirsten will be my new companion! He's another redhead Spanish missionary! 😂 So, I'll be staying here in the 5th Ward for Christmas! I'm so excited!
This past week was tough. We had MLC on Wednesday up at Newberg, and learned a lot from President Tateoka about what he wants the missionaries to learn this coming transfer. He talked about three Christlike attributes that if we cultivate and apply to ourselves, we are motived to action. He committed us to teach that to our missionaries to help them increase in action, and to help with boldness. So, that's what Elder Kirsten and I will be doing!
Thursday was great! As we got out and talked to people and were bold, we saw miracles happen. We got our ten contacts, and found some great new investigators who we hope are going to be solid! We were packed full of teaching people on the street and tasks we created earlier that day for a lot of our investigators.
The rest of the weekend was hard. Specifically the Gonzales family is having marital problems, and the Ward is on board helping them through it. My testimony of the covenant made at baptism to "mourn with those that mourn" and to help others in any way has grown watching the Ward rally around this family.
I'm doing great, loving the work, and excited for Christmas! I hope you all are participating in Light the World, and seeing miracles come as you service others as Christ would!
