Capo Beach Ward

Elder Roberts

the week

Day 226 9/23/19
P-day, we woke up 9am which is 2 and a half hours late. It was a sad and sorry state. We were given much chocolate of many varieties. We had Norwegian, Swiss and American.

Day 227 9/24/19
I was studying 3 Nephi 13 and verse 26 "Behold the fowls of the air, for they sow not, neither do they reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? God will provide for our needs if we have faith. Now faith isn't just idly sitting waiting for God to do everything, faith leads to action so we do something.

Day 228 9/25/19
We had zone conference. We had Elder Pearson of the seventy there. It was a good zone conference, to sum it up our mission could do better at finding people. Pretty much when you are a missionary you are only supposed to be doing the will of God, you only follow God and do what He wants you to do.

Day 229 9/26/19
We got our parking permits for our car so now we can park in our parking spot and not across the road. We taught the Restoration to a woman who was meeting with the Sister missionaries. But now there aren't Sister in our area so we get to teach her. Also gas is almost 4 dollars a gallon

Day 230 9/27/19
We organize records, again.
Saw some giraffes. It's cloudy so an end to the summer. It's been sunny since April, and that's just not right.

Day 231 9/28/19
I went on an exchange with the district leader. It went well only one person said to get off their property. We taught 3 lessons to people on the street. They weren't interested.

Day 232 9/29/19
Church was good we got a copy of the Come, Follow Me Manuel for a person we are teaching. I was attacked by a dog. It was a little dog, it was on a leash and it was being walked down the sidewalk. I asked the owner what the name of his dog was and then the little thing lunged and tried to bite the lower part of my calf but only bit my pants. The owner jerked the leash and said sorry and kept walking. We had a picnic with the ward. On a spiritual note I was reading in the JSH and verse 24 stood out to me. I'll let you read it
"24 However, it was nevertheless a fact that I had beheld a vision. I have thought since, that I felt much like Paul, when he made his defense before King Agrippa, and related the account of the vision he had when he saw a light, and heard a voice; but still there were but few who believed him; some said he was dishonest, others said he was mad; and he was ridiculed and reviled. But all this did not destroy the reality of his vision. He had seen a vision, he knew he had, and all the persecution under heaven could not make it otherwise; and though they should persecute him unto death, yet he knew, and would know to his latest breath, that he had both seen a light and heard a voice speaking unto him, and all the world could not make him think or believe otherwise."
We learn that just because many people say something that happened didn't happen, does not suddenly make that event erased from history. Verse 25 holds the famous line by Joseph Smith "For I had seen a vision; I knew it, and I knew that God knew it, and I could not deny it." I have learned for myself that the Book of Mormon is true and that Joseph Smith was a prophet. It has been manifested to me by the power of the Holy Ghost and I can not deny what I now know to be true. Anyone can have the same experience I have had if they only read the Book of Mormon with an open heart and mind, ponder the teachings, and pray and ask God with real intent having faith in Christ, if the Book is true. God will testify to you that it is true, by the power of the Holy Ghost.
