Day 156 7/15/19
It's preparation day. We didn't do much just went shopping, after shopping we went to a church building and did nothing because we can't meet with the Zone anymore.
Day 157 7/16/19
Today we tried to contact some people who had expressed interest before, no takers. The highlight of today was we went tracting and found someone who claimed to be an exmormon. They invited us inside and then bashed us for an hour and a half trying to say that the Book of Mormon is false. Like in Jacob 7:5 (paraphrasing) from what I have seen and experienced I can not be shaken from the faith. I wish to have faith like in the seventh verse of how firm a foundation which says "The soul that on Jesus hath leaned for repose
I will not, I cannot, desert to his foes;
That soul, though all hell should endeavor to shake,
I’ll never, no never, I’ll never, no never,
I’ll never, no never, no never forsake!
I know that the Book of Mormon is true, for it has been revealed unto me by the Holy Ghost and I can never deny what has been manifested too me.
Day 158 7/17/19
Breakfast today is good.
We had a district council and the assistants from Irvine were there. After this council we had three lessons, and two of them canceled and the third wasn't interested any more. We started an exchange with the district leader. I went with the district leader's companion.
Day 159 today
I woke up at 6:30 as apposed to 5:30 to work out. So that was nice, we had a lesson at 10 with this guy named Omega who knows the Book of Mormon is true but is hung up on black and the Priesthood, and where did black skin come from and if he is cursed or something. Immediately after Omega we met with this guy named Chuck who also knows the Book of Mormon is true and that Joseph Smith is a prophet but doesn't believe in the Book of Abraham. (we are working explaining this one) Basically church history is like deep doctrine or the meat of the gospel, 1 chorinthians 3:2. Somehow church history is meat and few can bear it. Anyway Joseph Smith was a prophet the Book of Mormon is true and as we turn to it God will bless us. The exchange isn't over yet, it ends in the morning. Elder Bonds and Elder Page had to drive to the other side of Camp Pendleton to give a blessing and that's like a 30 minute drive one way so we will exchange back in the morning. It was 9:00pm when we learned of this.
Day 160 7/19/19
Today we did service, destroying weeds. Tomorrow we destroy the rest of a tree.
I attempted to make biscuits with almond flour, the recipe called for 2 1/2 cups of flour which I did but the 2 eggs, 1/4 cup of butter and table spoon of honey were not enough to make the flour into dough. 8 eggs later and half the tub of butter the dough was somewhat like it should and so it was baked. Conclusion, I know it was not 2 and a half cups of flour in the bowl.
Day 161 7/20/19
Well either the inside of the biscuit is under cooked or I simply messed up the process of mixing the ingredients because I added to much flower in the form of 2 1/2 cups. But I simply didn't know what I was doing. But while I find the biscuit to be non desirable Elder Bonds says its good.
My companion and the district leader likes the biscuits until the after taste.
We had a BBQ and much food was consumed. Apparently we have a two week transfer and our district got an Irvine sister, so now the sisters in our district are a trio. I won a game of chess our district leader was attempting to get a piece of toast out of the bottom of the toaster... It was unplugged.
and then we got locked out of our apartment because we couldn't open the gate.
Day 162 7/21/19
We taught some recrutes, it was a good time. We had church and it was good learned the difference between doctrine, policy, and culture. To break it down doctrine does not change, policy can change but it does not violate the doctrine and culture has no doctrine behind it and is just what people do. Examples of culture. Blessing the food, green jello, funeral potatos, mini vans, and unassigned assigned seating in the chapel. We have started a 2 week transfer (I don't know why I just serve here) so now I get to serve for 18 transfers instead of 17. They moved a lot of missionaries that speak asain dialects down to the (caralsbad mission) south end of the mission so now there are a lot of trios. I would say a Hymn to describe this transfers is Come, Come, ye saints.
