French Valley Ward, Temecula Stake

Elder Molen

walked, and walked

86 5/6/19
Today was a good P-day, I played basketball and some card games. We had a lesson with some ward missionaries and it was awesome. We resolved concerns. I was told that I had a medical plan being put together, and that I would very very likely stay in the Carlsbad mission after the split. Just the thought of not being in the zone I'm in and not being able to see the people I have taught progress, brings sadness. I love the people here I love the missionaries and now I will probably leave them. There is a slim to none chance I will see them again.

Day 87 5/7/19
We got yelled at by a guy in the navy after we rang his doorbell. He said to get of his porch. It was awesome. We passed out two copies of the Book of Mormon and talked to a family we were meaning to talk too.

Day 88 5/8/19
We went on exchanges it was good, we found 5 people with interest. We made Jell-O, and found out that there are 10,830 calories in a big container of peanut butter. We accidentally left the mission, no big deal we went back.

Day 90 5/9/19
We went and did service ended out exchange then drove down to the mission office, it was closed so we went in through the front door and the office was open. The lyrics of a song repeat in my mind I don't know the name, "Far from their land as they made their stand, they stood strong and the legend still lives on!" It reminds me that I am very far from home and that I must be the best missionary I can be and leave a legacy for others to follow.

Day 91 5/10/19
We planned for four hours. It was awful. I also threw up at midnight so I figured I would put it in this day and not the previous. BTW jello is read and continues to be read coming back out. We helped a man with his security system. I know that God loves us and he gave us agency so that we can choose to come back to him.

Day 92 5/11/19
Well today we got fed lunch by members, we had lasagna. We had a lesson with the guy we tried to stop teaching but he is still interested. We had a lesson with an individual who had an interesting view on the fall. Missionary wise we handed out pamphlets and tried to set up return appointments. I know the Book of Mormon is true, and that this is Christ's Church restored on the earth in the fullest.

Day 93 5/12/19
Today is mother's day. We found a man who wanted to know more about the Book of Mormon and what we believe. We also met a former member who left because their mother died of cancer, and only asked for Priesthood blessings to heal her. Which is an awesome show of faith, but lazy. Brigham Young taught, "If we are sick, and ask the Lord to heal us, and to do all for us that is necessary to be done, according to my understanding of the Gospel of salvation, I might as well ask the Lord to cause my wheat and corn to grow, without my plowing the ground and casting in the seed. It appears consistent to me to apply every remedy that comes within the range of my knowledge, and to ask my Father in Heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ, to sanctify that application to the healing of my body (DBY, 163)."
