Elder Molen

its been a long time

72 4/22/19
Today we went to a members house and they have a big backyard with a tennis court and a big pool (we didn't use it but it was there) and it was a fun time. We had a lesson with someone who was interested. In this lesson we read with them Mosiah 3, we got 12 verses in when the person said that they think Joseph Smith was a false prophet that the Book of Mormon and the church teaches a different gospel than the one christ taught. Elder Molen and I gave our testimonies that we know that the Book of Mormon is true. Ultimately in the end we stopped teaching them. Oh, how great the sorrow. From the words of Elder Holland, “I am convinced that missionary work is not easy because salvation is not a cheap experience. Salvation never was easy. We are the Church of Jesus Christ, this is the truth, and He is our Great Eternal Head. How could we believe it would be easy for us when it was never, ever easy for Him? It seems to me that missionaries and mission leaders have to spend at least a few moments in Gethsemane. Missionaries and mission leaders have to take at least a step or two toward the summit of Calvary."

Day 73 4/23/19
We had zone conference and it was good. We went tracing and gave away three copies of the Book of Mormon. Here's a scripture about missionary work Doctrine and Covenants 60:2-3. I plead with you do missionary work, you don't need a list. Just send the missionaries to anyone who knows what faith you are.

Day 74 4/24/19
Wednesday, we did service that was fun. Then we went contacting and we got into the home of a Do not contact (people that want to destroy our testimony or have threatened violence) we got into the home because a member who wants to become active in the church moved in with them and they let us in. We went tracting, after getting a confirmation from the spirit that the neighborhood we had planned on going to despite the distance is where we needed to go. While tracting we met a born again Christian, basically they said the Book of Mormon is wrong, they know it's wrong regardless of the fact they never opened the book. They will interrupt anytime you say anything that makes a point against them. They believe that salvation comes by simply saying that they believe in Christ. I told them that we believe in Christ and the gospel that he taught which is, faith in Jesus Christ and his atonement, repentance, baptism reseaving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end. The Born again agreed on the first point of faith then said that I was wrong and a heretic and going to hell while I stating the rest of the gospel. They told us to read all of, 1 John. They told me my testimony was wrong and that God doesn't speak to us anymore that it all ended with revelation. We said goodbye and walked away. So now I give you my testimony, I know without a shadow of a doubt that the Book of Mormon is true, I have received a witness of its truthfulness and divinity. Because the Book of Mormon is true Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, this is Christs' church and there is nothing anyone can tell me to make me reconsider. This is the true church, I say this in the name of God's son Jesus Christ, amen. After the bash we found two people with interest. God will send us to where he needs us all we have to do is listen.

Day 75 4/25/19
Forgot to write it down, but there was much repentance and self examination from the bash the previous day. The church is true, I know it, and I can not deny it.

Day 76 4/26/19
We handed out 3 copies of the Book of Mormon, and a Bible.
I made Jell-O again, went better than last time. (not spilling it over the stove helps)
I plead With everyone a member to read Doctrine and Covenants section 60 and follow the advice given. For there is no greater work than the Lord's work. Amen.

Day 77 4/27/19
2 Kings 4:40 is where bless the food came from. Today we found two new people with interest, that said that they would read ponder and pray about the Book of Mormon. I learned that I don't like working with members because the members do not give us referrals. Most of all baptisms come from member referrals. I lament at how uninterested I was while talking to the missionaries before my mission. Please give them someone anyone who at the least knows that you are a member.

Day 78 4/28/19
All in all we finished the week we found 6 new people to teach.
