San Ignacio, Paraguay

Elder Soto

Week 92 (San Ignacio and Consejo)

Hello everyone!!

This has been a week full of experiences and love of the Lord. We continued to get used to San Ignacio and while it was still quite dificult at some times we really saw the hand of the Lord with us right when we needed it most.

The week started with a quick trip to the Leader Council of the mission on Tuesday! (kinda sad that it was my last one....) but it was an awesome experience! The Spirit was quite strong and I could see several friends from different part of the misison. The only bummer was that they "divided" the meeting this transfer between the two countries. So i didnt get to see a couple dear friends from Argentina because they had another consejo the day after in Posadas. But I did get to see Elder Bezzant! I love that guy! We passed the whole day laughing! It was super fun! The topic of the meeting was Faith and Miracles. We were able to study a lot about that and the Spirit filled the minds of everyone with ideas to help the missionaries in the mission.

Some more good news is that our Zone Conference will be a multizone conference in Encarnacion on the good ole day of JULY 4!! It was so funny......President Svec walked in to the consejo and started greeting all the missionaries and when he came up to me he said with a smile "Elder Willardson, you are in charge of the decorations for the 4th of July celebration" I thought he was just making a joke. But then later on the Hermana Svec pulled me aside and told me that there was gonna be the Zone Conference on the 4th of July in Encarnacion and at first she thought that I was still in CDE with Elder Bezzant but when she realized that I was in this part of the mission she decided I could be in charge since Bezzant and I were the ones who always proposed the idea of a 4th of July activity to her! Wont be anything too extravagant but I am excited for next Tuesday!

The work is good here in San Ignacio. There have been a couple days when I get disanimated and lose faith in contacting....but it always seems that the Lord picks me right up when I most needed time and time again. One of those times was on Saturday afternoon. We had several people planned to visit and one by one they started to fall we did the classic knocking doors. We faced rejection after rejection and I was losing all faith. We finally decided to visit an investigator who when we had gotten here to San Ignacio and visited seemed pretty interested but who after that, we could not find and lost all contact with. We found her at home and she recieved us and told us she had been planning to come to church the next day. It was a miracle! She asked if she could still be baptized on the 15 of July and we told her yes, we asked her why she wanted to and she explained perfectly how the doctrine of baptism could help her become a new person. We were so happy leaving that lesson. We left with a new energy and picked up our spirit! We ended the day with several other solid lessons. One of which to two sisters and their kids. A family of 7 in total! And we invited them all to be baptized on July 15th and they said yes! We are so excited for them!

So I cant really complain. We are being really blessed with people to teach who are prepared to follow Jesus Christ. They each have different obstacles but I hope and pray and believe that they will be ready to be baptized on July 15.

Well other than that, I dont have much more to report! This morning a fun surprise arrived in my inbox with the Subject "Intinerary". Shocked me a ton to see my flight plans home....hard to believe its right around the corner. But not too much to think about that....there is still work to do in these 4 weeks!

Thanks to everyone who is writing me and letting me know about their lifes! Your emails are much appreciated!

Hope you all have the best week!

Love always,

Elder Willardson
