Carlos Antonio Lopez, Paraguay

Elder Lobos

Week 24 (Carlos Antonio Lopez)

Well everyone, I am going International again! The call came for Transfers this morning and surprisingly I am going and my companion is staying. A bit unexpected and while I am sad to be leaving the great people here I am excited for what President told me. He said "I want you to know that the Lord sends missionaries to their áreas, not really me. You will have a new assignment, you can be the best there". At first when I got the call I was a bit bummed because Carlos has so many great people but after Reading that from President I am excited for the new opportunity! So we will see what happens. I dont know much about my companion, my área, nothing. The zone leaders only said that I will be going to Argentina and I need to be in Encarnación on Wednesday! So we will see what the Lord has in store!

This week I like the scripture Alma 31:38
" 38 And the Lord provided for them that they should hunger not, neither should they thirst; yea, and he also gave them strength, that they should suffer no manner of afflictions, save it were swallowed up in the joy of Christ. Now this was according to the prayer of Alma; and this because he prayed in faith"
This week was still a tough time (although it did get better as it went on) but at the beginning I was feeling quite alone and discouraged and I was Reading through old letters that I had kept and one of them from one of my good Friends had this spiritual thought attached to it. About in the chapter heading of 31 it talks about swallowing up their afflictions in the joy of Christ" so I read this chapter and it was the perfect advice. I am forever grateful for good Friends. And especially Christ.

Well the highlight of this week was Ramon and Sonia´s marrige! Pretty cool experience! I have quite a few pictures so I will send some!

Yesterday at church we had Sonia and Marcelo and Shirley again! Shirley is getting ready to be baptized at the end of this month and Sonia and Ramon will be at the beggining of next month (he is still stuggling with the Word of Wisdom) but it is exciting times here! The new companion of Elder Lobos will have a great time!

Elder Lobos and I are finally healthy. He had Dengue Fever and I think I did too but I wasnt too thrilled to go to the hospital here (it scares me :/) so I dont know for sure but I am pretty certain I had it. Elder Lobos and I had the same stuff! Pretty miserable but we are all better now!

Well I got a busy week of packing my life into 3 suitcases and crossing the bridge this week! I am sad to leave Carlos but excited for this new opportunity. I know this is exactly what I need to bust out and continue progressing to be the missionary that can help the most people posible! I am so excited for the Lords plan.

I love you all and thank you for everything you do. I really feel the prayers and the support from your letters each week. I couldnt do it without you all!

With love,

Elder Willardson
