Elder Quintanna

Week 15 (Obera)

Feliz Año!!! 2016 is already here! Wow....

Start off with a scripture! In D&C 12:8
"8 And no one can assist in this work except he shall behumble and full of love, having faith, hope, and charity, being temperate in all things, whatsoever shall be entrustedto his care."
I love this scripture because it really reminds me the things that I always need to be developing and using as a full time representative of Jesus Christ and a servant of God. I am not anywhere near perfect, but especially at this point in my life, I need to be the closest possible! It is such an important job I have, and I am honored and blessed to be worthy of a representative of him.

I hope everyone is off to a great start this year! We spent New Years Eve with a family here and had an "Asado" (Argentine for a bunch of meat!) I think it is BBQ in English but not like the BBQ flavor! Anyways it was amazinggggg, so good! And the family is the best! I love them! New Years Day we just spent in the capilla playing ping pong and soccer and basketball and uno again! It was fun but I am so happy to be back on the normal schedule again with a normal PDay and then the rest of the week to go out and work!

The Highlight of of this week was defintely Sunday! We had 3 Investigators come to church!!

Manuel and Guadalupe - I could talk about Manuel and his Girlfriend Guadalupe all day because I love Manuel. He has progressed a lot. We met him my first transfer and at first we were teaching his dad and he wasnt interested but after a while he became the real investigator. He is amazing. His desire to have the gospel of Jesus Christ is so real but he has so many obstacles. We are taking them one by one. He is progressing so much!

Marcelo - Marcelo is the husband of a member who is 22 years old and cares for all 4 of her siblings because their parents abandoned them. The church built the family a house and they are awesome. Marcelo doesnt live with them (kinda weird) but we have taught him in the past and it wasnt his time, so we left him for a while hoping that he would come around, so I was sooooooo excited when I saw him walk in yesterday!! I hope that he has his desire ready now and that he didnt just come for Claudia (his wife).

To make it even more crazy.......................................I had to play the Piano in Sacrament Meeting Yesterday....
The Sister Missionary who usually plays was transfered last week and I thought her companion was gonna play but apparently she told the branch music lady that I was gonna play. So yesterday we were standing in the foyer talking with investigators and the sister in the branch came and said "Elder Willardson can you come here for a minute" and I knew it then....I was freaking out... (for those of you who dont know I stopped piano like 5 years ago, sadly, and regrettfully I forgot most of it) but I prayed hard and we changed to some easier songs that I was more comfortable with and it surprisingly turned out good. What a miracle!

I just hope I dont have to play every Sunday now.....

To make it even crazier for me I was playing the opening hymn and after the first verse I looked up and noticed that President LaPierre had just walked in. This is completely random and unusual and he did it without telling us! Just showed up.... I hope you can all imagine the nervousness I had that the Mission President was gonna watch this disaster I was about to I am extra thankful God helped me out with this one...

Today was so fun! There is a sport here called PADEL. It is like Tennis but you play off the walls and with bigger thicker rackets and everything. It looked so fun when we saw it last week that we decided we had to come for PDay. So we went and played today and it was a blast! I took some pictures that I will attach (they arent very great because I dont have a super chuchi Camera but igaul!)

Well Everyone! Thank you for everything and just for being the people you all are! I hope 2016 is a great one for you! I hope every single one of us can make it a goal to have more time for the Savior in our lives this year. It is something we experience as missionaries (24 hours a day/ 7 Days a Week for 2 years is time for him) and it really is an amazing thing! I want each one of us to enjoy the blessings that it brings.

I love you all! Let me know if I can ever do anything for you.

With love,

Elder Willardson
