Obera Argentina

Elder Vinces

Week 10 (Obera)

December is already here? Doesn't feel like it! (I don't know if that is because time is passing super fast or just because it is insanely hot here) definitely gonna be weird having a Christmas that kills me with heat and humidity but I better get used to it because this is 1 of 2!

My ponderization this week is found in Christ´s Sermon on the Mount in Matthew 6:34:
"Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof."
I love this scripture because I really have been focusing on the Day by Day. I was studying a talk Give us this Day our Daily Bread by Elder Cristofferson (I think) that he gave at a BYU devotional a little while back. It really is a good talk to focus on what you have to do each day, to be the best person you can be over a long period of time!

This week I experienced my first illness of South America. Saturday I woke up with a pretty bad sore throat but I just went about normal and it got worse Saturday night. Sunday was worse and I went to Church so I could take the sacrament but after church I was in bed all stinks because we had good appointments set and so we had to do divisions with the other elders. I am still feeling quite sick but I figured I am at the point where I better just get going and let it run its course.

With Yamile we also had bad luck this week. She is having a really hard time in here life right now (its hard for even Elder Vinces to understand and he speaks Spanish) and she was out of town all week. We finally found her on Saturday and she came to church yesterday but unfortunately we are gonna have to push the baptism back at least another week. But all good, I just gotta put my Faith in place.

The weather here was super hot and humid and then it rained (POURED) on Friday and Saturday. It is gonna be so weird having Christmas here because 1 away from family but 2 because it is supposed to be cold!!! Every time I hear a Christmas song I think of a nice chilly Arizona night and it is just so different! But it will be a good to experience! WE have a Zone Activity with President the week before Christmas right after Transfers. And talking to the family will be such a treat! I am so excited!

Well not much to report from here! We are working hard through the heat and really the mission is incredible. I hope that I am doing the little things everyday to become the man the Lord needs in this mission in this moment and also the man he will need later in my life.

I love you all and remember to send Christmas Cards!!!! I would love to get them all!!
