Provo MTC

Elder Merrell

Week 4....I think (MTC)

Well hello to everyone again,

Week 4 is over! At least that is what I think it is, all the weeks are blending together! Its crazy that this time in 2 weeks I should be in Argentina! (Pray for my Visa) It is coming so fast! It feels like we have been here forever, but at the same time I can vividly remember that day almost a month ago that I was saying goodbye to Mom and Dad and two of my brothers just out front of this amazing place! It truly has been an adventure and I made a promise with myself that I would make these last 2 weeks count, and really work my hardest at coming closer to Jesus Christ and also learning the language!

The language is coming good, I will admit it is very frustrating at times when I want to just share everything about the gospel that I love so much, but I can't find the Spanish words to do it. All is well though, I can't wait to be fluent in the language, that will be the coolest thing! It won't be easy, but things that are worth it are never easy. And the thing I always love to remember that doesn't just apply to my Spanish but every trial that we ever have! It was said in our devotional last night... "Never give up without allowing time for the Lord to ease your burden" Me encanta!! I love that! And I am constantly using that everyday!

The Devotionals were great once again! It is always a blessing to have modern day church apostles and other leaders of the church come and share the wisdom God has blessed them with and help me grow my testimony! This week we had the Provo Temple President on Sunday and Bishop Gerald Causse of the Presiding Bishopric last night! They were both excellent talks and I learn so much every time!

Wow time is flying, on Friday we should have our travel/flight plans to Argentina and then towards the end of next week we will have much packing to do as we will probably leave for the airport around 3 or 4 that Monday morning! While I am gonna miss the MTC, I can't wait to get out there and share everything I know with people who are desperately wanting to know their Savior! I can hardly wait for the Joy that will bring me!

One thought I would like to share this week is something my Dad wrote in the letter he gave me the day I came to the MTC. It was "Always remember the name on the bottom of the tag, means much more than the name on the top" (I have included a picture in case you cannot picture the Missionary name tag). I love this so much and I think about it all the time, I am not out here for myself, I am out here for Jesus Christ. I am here because I love him and all that he has given me! I am here to help others come to know him and obtain all the blessings and love that he has for them! The only way we can obtain the fullness of those blessings is by having faith and living the principles of the Gospel of Jesus Christ! For we cannot ask for a sign and then believe, we must show faith and believe and then we will receive a sign! I love the Gospel so much and I love sharing my testimony!

Well, I want to keep it short to catch up on replying to some emails I have been bad at responding too and also write my Parents and Siblings who I miss so much!

Thanks again for all the mail, the Elder next to me is sending a "Standings" of who has sent the most letters to him, but I will save my time and rather just thank all of you for the mail! It truly is a treat!

I love you all and miss you and hope and pray for the best for you! As always, let me know if I can do anything for you!
