Meditation Practices for La Meurte

There are some crazy people in Mazatlan and especially the whole world. One lesson I had was very powerful this week. Elder Tapia and I used a lot of scriptures as we talked about some basic doctrines and the spirit was really strong. The investigator was talking to us about meditation. It took us a minute to figure out he didnt believe in the bible when he said he did. He told us he practices dying in meditation for two and a half hours every day to prepare for "la muerte" the death. Pretty interesting. At the end he said he wasnt ready and said we should come back in a year on september first. I have it on my calendar.

It was a really great week, we worked so hard. We found a couple of families we are teaching and are seeing some great progress there. Spanish is coming along great, Im the tall guero with the thick accent.

I have been studying the great apostasy really hard this past week. Its very interesting what you can find. Its also interesting to see the differences in translation between the english bible and the spanish bible. Not too much is different but here and there key words change, it can actually make quite the difference. We believe in the bible as far as it is translated correctly. Theres mistranslations in both, and all languages. Another good reason to have the Book of Mormon.

I know that this church is The true Church of Jesus Christ because I have received a witness of its truthfulness from the Holy Spirit. I testify of it everyday. I am so thankful for this opportunity to learn, grow and become more like my Savior. I know that the little things are the most important things we should be doing. The apostles arent wasting their breath when they say to read the scriptures, pray everyday and keep the sabbath day holy. Those are the most important things we need to do. By small and simple things are great things brought to pass. If anyone does these things they will see their life blessed. I have. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Love, Elder Nye
