Week of success (2)
This week was great!
We have a very big teaching pool, and they are all progressing so well. We have really learned what real intention is this past 6 weeks with the people we are teaching. They are all keeping commitments!
Leticia, who´s baptismal date fell because she was avoiding us for some weird reason, returned and we remarked a baptism date for April 11th along with some of her friends; Margarida, Reinaldo, and Dimas for the same date. We also had an awesome lesson with them on the Plan of Salvation where the spirit was sooooooooo strong! As we testified on the purpose of life and the atonement, we could literally see them feeling the spirit. You can see a difference in their eyes. Its way cool! They were asking so many questions and the spirit was guiding our words so much. I am starting to appreciate the plan of salvation more as I am teaching and studying it. I even gave a surprise talk on where we go after this life during church yesterday.
The family that we are teaching is doing well too. Their names are Antonio Marcos, Elaine, Beatriz, and Luana. They are reading the Book of Mormon and praying daily, but the adversary is working a ton to stop them from going to church. They really want to, but something always comes up. We went there for a lesson, and they apparently hadn´t been reading the Book of Mormon because life is really busy for them right now. I pulled out Matthew 6:31-33 and read it to them to help them start reading daily:
31Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
32(For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
33But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness ; and all these things shall be added unto you.
They said ``wow that was for me´´ and they promised to read daily. It was awesome!
Another family that we are teaching showed up to church yesterday and LOVED it!!!! Elis, the mother, even cried after sunday school. She ran up to us and gave us both a big hug lol! It was pretty funny, but I´m so glad they felt the spirit there.
ALSO, on Sunday I got quite the surprise...the Bishop called me out of the gospel principles class to see a visitor but as I turned the corner there was Sister Da Silva from Bolingbrook! I was in shock haha! It was really cool to see her, and we talked in Portuguese for the first time, and she stayed for sacrament meeting. We took some pictures, she gave me my package from my parents, and then left to go visit family. What a surprise lol!
And to finish off about our investigators, Jean who is 16 will finally get baptized next Saturday April 4th! We will find out transfers tonight so I hope with all my heart that I stay here in Pircacicaba Ala 5. I love my area!
Com amor,
Elder Carter
