Spiritual thought: Spiritual thought for the week comes from 1 Peter 5:6-7 6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for youI love this scripture I think it holds a lot of power and I truly do know that the Lord loves all of us individually and personally and if you cast all your problems and cares on him he will lift you up because he cares for you so much!
Well this week was exciting to say the least haha! Funny story to start out my comp and I were going to see one of the people that we are teaching and as we get out these two dogs come up and they start growling and barking. I look at Elder Wayment like I don't know man they look mean! He says don't worry about it. I've been here before they don't usually bite. Well we start waking to the door and they are not backing down they are just growling more, and more then Elder Wayment tries to step to the door and the dog lunges at him and tries to bite him! Well we both booked it for the car and I got in and I expected him to get in but nope he runs right past the car and the dog is chasing him down the street haha! Well eventually the dog stops and he gets back to the car haha man it was a good adrenaline booster! Haven't been chased by a dog in a while it felt like we were back to doing real missionary work again haha.
Well we had a good week. We taught about 11 lessons and found 2 new people. We are now teaching this new kid named Trey, he's a cool kid, his dad is a member and he came to our church a couple of times as a kid. He's going into the military in August, he loves basketball so we played some basketball with him and then taught him. He seems pretty solid so we are excited to start teaching him.
Our boy Ronnie is still doing really good! He has been off smoking and drinking for over a week now and he is going strong and looking healthier by the day! We had some good lessons with him this week unfortunately he wasn't feeling good enough to come to church but hopefully next week!
The other Ronnie we are teaching who is a female came to church this week! She is going through some hard times and is still trying to figure out if baptism is the right thing for her right now, so we are still working with her. But her coming to church was a huge step and the members were awesome and totally took her into the ward so that was awesome.
We found a new guy this week named Charlie and he is a beast!! He lives in the middle of nowhere, he was a self referral and it was definitely by the grace of God that we were able to find him but thank goodness we did! We went to his house on Tuesday and he was so happy to see us and just kept saying I can't believe you came, he struggles with drinking and chewing tobacco but he wants help and is willing to give it all to the Lord! We gave him a book of Mormon and prayed with him and set up a return appointment. We came back on Friday and he had read the introduction and the witnesses of the book of Mormon and just kept asking is it true? The gold plates are they real? Is what they say real? And we just bore our testimony. It was a really amazing experience. He has a lot of faith and we are so excited to be able to teach him!
Well this week was truly amazing. We are teaching alot of people with incredible faith and the Lord has guided us to a lot of miracles! The Lord is truly in this work and I'm so happy to be a part of it!
