Spiritual thought: "Now when our hearts were depressed, and we were about to turn back, behold, the lord comforted us and said... bear with patience thine afflictions and i will give unto you success" Alma 26:27 the Lord is always more than willing to bless us and help us to succeed but how willing are you to trust him and have faith in his timing?
A Lot of things happened this week and it's been truly amazing to be a part of this wonderful work and see all the blessings we receive on a daily basis! Here are some of the highlights from this week! Highlights:
1) The first awesome thing that happened from this past week was the opportunity to have a zone conference! It was still over zoom which is not the greatest thing ever but we were still able to learn a lot and be able to feel the great spirit and love from our mission president and his wife it is such a great opportunity to be able to learn from them!
2) We got to do service with the salvation army and that was so amazing and we are actually going to be able to do that every week from now on so that is so awesome! We are super excited for the opportunity to be able to do service every week with them, what a huge blessing!
3) We were able to put 2 people on date this week, their names are Marco and Lucas and they are 9 and 13 and are part of a part member family and we are so excited they decided to be baptized on the 29th of August!
4) We were able to put 5 more of our friends on date! This is actually an amazing story, Our friends are named the Mcquids and its this amazing family, they have been coming to church for like 3 years now but have never been baptized, they have been hesitant to leave the past culture behind because they are native american but Elder Goodsell and I were able to explain that they didn't have to leave their culture and we were able to talk about all the blessings that comes with baptism. They were still really hesitant so we told them to pray about what god wanted them to do next to progress. We got a text the next morning saying they prayed and received an answer that they need to be baptized! That was so awesome and we were so hyped they are going to be baptized September 5th!
The lord truly does his own work and I am so grateful for the opportunity that I get to be along for the ride! I love this work and I love my Heavenly Father and his son, our redeemer and Savior Jesus Christ!
Love you all!
Love Elder Asplund
