Week 47 Un Dios de Milagros
What another amazing week in the Lord's vineyard. This week has been such an enjoyable and amazing time of hard work. We had Zone Conferences and the TKM is thriving right now! We had 11 baptisms this past week and more are on the way!
Elder Baker and I have seen incredible miracles this week. Richard, one of our investigators, was baptized yesterday! He only has one leg and is wheelchair bound so getting him baptized was quite the feat. But the Lord makes it possible to keep his commandments and Richard followed through with faith! He has an incredible story and I feel lucky to be a part of his conversion process.
One of our other investigators, Juma, is going to be baptized this week! He has been taught for a long time and in his African culture, you must pay a dowry, or a certain sum of money, to your in-laws so that you can marry. We have been praying that Juma would find a miracle during the time of COVID-19 so that he could travel to Texas to pay it, and after having car troubles he was able to buy a new car, pay the dowry, and he is on his way home right now!
Amidst various other miracles happening through the TKM, I was able to read this scripture found in 2 Nephi 27: 20-23 that convey my thoughts:
20 Then shall the Lord God say unto him: The learned shall not
read them, for they have rejected them, and I am aable to do mine own work; wherefore thou shalt read the words which I shall give unto thee.
21 aTouch not the things which are sealed, for I will bring them forth in mine own due time; for I will show unto the children of men that I am able to do mine own work.
22 Wherefore, when thou hast read the words which I have commanded thee, and obtained the awitnesses which I have promised unto thee, then shalt thou seal up the book again, and hide it up unto me, that I may preserve the words which thou hast not read, until I shall see fit in mine own bwisdom to creveal all things unto the children of men.
23 For behold, I am God; and I am a God of amiracles; and I will show unto the bworld that I am the same yesterday, today, and forever; and I cwork not among the children of men save it be daccording to their faith.
Bottom line, the Lord is able to accomplish His own work and we have the privilege and opportunity of helping aid in that work.
Faith + Obedience = the powers of heaven unto miracles. I know that God is a God of miracles, and that they have not ceased today. Brigham Young taught us the nature of miracles and why we see them:
“Miracles … are not for the unbeliever; they are to console the Saints, and to strengthen and confirm the faith of those who love, fear, and serve God.”
I know that God will shine forth divine manifestations of power in your life. He already has, He does so now, and He will continue to do so.
Love you all and have a great week!
