Hey everyone! This was a great week and its such an exciting time of year. I wish we could always feel and act the way we do around Christmas time, year round. The Christmas spirit is here in Ashevile and Im learning how fun it is to be a missionary around Christmas.
We had Christmas zone conference thi week, which was the absolute best. President and Sister Pickett talked about how we can truly receive the gift of Christ. Many people profess to know the Savior, but do we truly recognize Him? Do we receive all that He has to offer us, and what we can offer Him? That seemed to be the main theme that stuck out for me in all the messages shared.
We also got to do Christmas skits, where all the zones peformed some pretty hilarious routines about missionary work.
On Saturday this week, we were supposed to have the baptisms of Salome and Elaine, but the adversary was working his hardest not to get those two into the water. We basically spent the whole day over there bearing testimony, sharing experiences, and reading the Book of Mormon with them. I dont think Ive ever experienced such a rollercoaster of emotions like I have that day. We filled the font, printed out the programs, got the white jumpsuits. Both of them know they need to be baptized and are ready, they just have to take that step. Unfortunately they decided not to be baptized on the 21st. We will not give up on them!
This scripture has been on my mind a lot lately:
Alma 41:8
Now, the decrees of God are unalterable; therefore, the way is prepared that whosoever will may walk therein and be saved.
I love you all! Look to the Savior and receive the Gift of Christ this Christmas. That is the greatest gift we can ever receive in life.
