Provo, UT MTC

Elder Ridge Bennett

Week 2

This last week has felt like a month, but like a day at the same time. The days just kind of blend together. Each week day there is 6 hours of class instruction. All just about aquiring missionary skills, such as teaching, asking questions, sharing our testimonies.

The MTC hires "investigators" so that we can practice teaching them. My companion and I get to teach a 25 minute lesson to them 3 or 4 times a week.

Things are still going well with my companion. He has a stronger personality than me and likes to talk a lot. This has made it tricky for me to talk much during our lessons because words come to me a bit slower ;). However we are learning to work together better. My talking skills have definitely improved in the time I have been here.

In class we role play a lot, where we practice talking and teaching each other.

We get 1 hour of exercise per day and my apartment, which has 6 elders, usually plays volleyball at the MTC gym.
I will write more later.

For my plaque I'd like the scripture Alma 7:12,
"And he will take upon him death, that he may loose the bands of death which bind his people; and he will take upon him their infirmities, that his bowels may be filled with mercy, according to the flesh, that he may know according to the flesh how to succor his people according to their infirmities."

Got the ankle brace, cannot pick up alfajores until Monday.
Thanks for the email, I will talk with you guys next week. Miss you all, but am doing great.
