Let me know when you see a normal person

This week was awesome! I went on exchanges to Greenville Ohio.  It's out there in the Boonies with all the Buckeyes! I was with an elder that came out on his mission at the same time as me.  He is also one the district leaders.  A few weeks ago he gave a training on christlike attributes and how to use them while contacting people. We spent most of the day out in the sun talking with people.  I'll tell you what this elder was amazing at talking with people.  He could strike up a natural conversation within seconds with literally anyone! It became fun because instead of just telling people what we believe and asking if they would be interested, we took an interest in their lives and related what ever they said back to the gospel!  Talking to people honestly became addicting! Towards the end of the day we were in a small town contacting people.  The first 3 people we had a good conversations with, but they told us that another group of church people had just come through the area and talked to them about the gospel. That's when we met a couple outside on their deck.  We called out to them and started a conversation.  They said, "Wow all these church people are starting to come out like flies in the summer."  Normally I would be offended by being called a fly, but this time I wasn't. They ended up asking us what church we were from and we told them.  We introduced them to the Book of Mormon and told them that Christ had made an appearance to America after he was resurrected. After the guy heard that he kept saying, "Wow this is interesting.  I have never heard this before.  It makes sense that he would visit the people here." To make a long story short he gladly accepted a copy of the Book of Mormon and we trotted off, while they talked with each other about the new information they had just received. I couldn't help but think about how unique and amazing the message I share with people each day is.  These people had 3 seperate churches stop by all within in one day, and they didn't pay them any attention, but when they heard the message of the restoration, the spirit touched their hearts and they opened up!
This week has been extremely humid!  It has been close to 90 degrees and about 80-90% humidity.  We spent alot of the time outside walking around due to not having any miles left with our car. On Saturday we had set a goal to find at least one new person to teach.  Towards the end of the day we decided to use some of our limited miles to drive to a members house for dinner.  Before we left we stopped by a few potentials, but they were not home. As we got in the car we saw a guy pull up on his bicycle next to our car.  He looked extremely confused, so I rolled down the window.  As I did this I said a quick prayer asking God if this was the person that we were supposed to find today and then asked Him to place words into my mouth as to what to say. When the window finally rolled down I said, "How are you doing?" He looked at me as if I was some type of alien and then said, "Do I really have to do it?"After hearing that question I was really confused and slightly afraid. I asked, do what. He said, "you know, it. How do I do it?" Thinking he meant how to be saved, I said, "well we go around and teach people about how they can be saved in God's kingdom, is that what you are looking for." He stopped and then said, "Long Pause". Right then I had an impression that this guy was in the early stages of heat stroke. I asked him if he had any water and he shook his head saying no. I offered him some and he quietly nodded that he would like some. So I gave him my last water bottle. Honestly it felt really good. I wanted to help this guy so badly, but the whole time I was thinking of the wrong way to help him. It wasn't until I relied on the spirit to tell me what to do that I was able to help him!
"My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways."  I know Gods thoughts are higher than my thoughts.  I know He has a perfect plan for us and as we rely on Him, having faith that He will provide a way for us to accomplish His purpose then we will see the greatest amount of happiness!
Love y'all! Elder Johnson
