Hoosier Talk

Hey Y'all... I haven't talked to ya in couple few.... (Hoosier Talk)

This week has been one for the books!

Elder Cutler and I made some goals to help us talk to everyone! Every morning we plan and make sure our day is full of things to do! Sometimes we don't have time for lunch but I am totally fine with that because time fly's when you are busy... We have been walking everywhere because we have found it is a lot easier to talk to people when walking.

This week we found 5 new investigators and I know that it had nothing to do with what Elder Cutler and I said to them... But I know it had all to do with us working hard, and when God saw that we were working hard he blessed us with things to do, and people to talk to!

A pretty awesome story that happened this week was...

We were walking around and it was about 8:00 pm (no one ever wants to talk to us when its dark out) Our appointment fell through so we were looking for things to do. Elder Cutler and I decided to go through our potentials real quick and find a house that we could knock on. Right before we were about to do this we get a text from an (801) number. Elder Cutler looked at me and asked if it was my moms number... I looked at it and said no. We read the text and noticed it was a media referral from temple square! I broke down into tears, because finally our hard work was paying off!

Then about 30 seconds later we get a call from a random number who ends up being this guy that the text was talking about. His name is Tim Miller and he had his records removed from the church awhile ago. He had a near death experience and realized that he needs to come back to church! We talked to him for a little bit and he asked us to share our favorite scripture. I shared Alma 26:27 and he told me, ":that is exactly what I needed to hear!" I was so happy that a scripture that means so much to me also could impact someone else!

He has been calling us everyday to talk about scriptures and testimonies. He is in the hospital right now and when he gets out he will no longer be in our area, but I am so happy and glad that we were able to talk to him!

SO MANY More miracles happened this week as we worked hard... But I can't tell them to you because I am afraid that your computers will lose all of its memory!

Yesterday I was able to give a talk in sacrament meeting... The topic was on "How sacrifice brings blessings." I could be wrong but I am pretty sure that was my topic for my farewell! While preparing for my talk my mind was rolling through so many sacrifices that I have made throughout my life to be able to be here on a mission. Then my mind went to all the people that have made sacrifices to help me in my life! from coaches, to teachers, to friends, to siblings, to family, to my dad, and especially my mom!

When going through a sacrifice in life I always think of a scripture... that scripture is Doctrine and Covenants 64:32 "But all things must come to pass in their own time" The things we go through are just a small trial, with a giant outcome! Remember that after a sacrifice for a worthy cause there is always a blessing!

I know that the Book Or Mormon is the word of God! It answers questions that not even the bible can answer! Someone asked me this week "Is the Book of Mormon hard to read?" The question took me off guard because when I first started reading it, it was. Then I realized that when I first started reading it, I didn't have a desire to understand it, but now that I have a desire to understand I can understand it better! If we have a desire to know the Book of Mormon is true then God will give us that answer... If we have a desire to help someone out then God will put someone in our path to help!

I Love you all!
