What's a Buckeye?

This week was so great! It started off with Zone Conference where we talked a lot about teaching slower helps people progress quicker.  I have tried to implement that within my own studies.  While reading the Book of Mormon I try to read a little slower and then apply the things being taught to myself!  It has been really effective and I have learned a lot more and have felt the spirit each time I read!!
At the beginning of this week we took some time and looked over our goals.  We set a goal to find 4 new people to teach.  Which is a pretty lofty goal for this area, but there were names associated with that number and I new that we could reach it with a little work. On Wednesday we made some calls to some of the people who I thought we could teach this week and pick up as new people.  I began to call and every single person answered!!  It was almost a miracle.  But with that being said every single person besides one said that they no longer wanted to meet!I was a little discouraged, but thankful for the one that said we could come over on Saturday. When we called him he told us that he had just moved so the address we had was not correct.  (No wonder every time we tried by his house no one answered...)  He was pretty excited that we called and couldn't wait for our meeting!! Saturday finally came and we went to Isaiah's house.  We didn't know much about him so we had planned to talk about the Book of Mormon and invite him to read it. As we approached his house, we knocked on the door, but we heard nothing.  We knocked again and then waited.  After about 10 seconds a guys yells "Are you Jehovah Witnesses?"  We said, "Nope we are from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints!"  and he said, "Well I don't want anything!" We were a little confused because we thought we had an appointment with him set up.  Then we looked at the address and it was the wrong one!So when we finally found the right address, Isaiah came to the door and let us right in!  Then we realized that his wife was also interested!!We had an amazing lesson where we read 1 Nephi 1:1 and talked about afflictions and trials, as well as what kind of parents they want to be!! The spirit was so strong!!
After that lesson we were also able to find another couple that allowed us to teach them! They and a lot of questions about our beliefs and agreed to read the Book of Mormon.
But it didn't end there.  One evening we were wandering around Troy look for a gas station to use the restroom.  We finally found one... Miracle... and went inside.  Right when we did a lady came up to us and said, "hey missionaries were supposed to bring me a book but they never did." So we were able to teach her about the Book of Mormon and get a return appointment!!
We ended up finding 5 people instead of 4.
With Gods help anything is possible!I love the spirit and am grateful for its influence in my life.  I love to sit in lessons and watch the gospel bring light into others eyes! I love this gospel that has brought light into my eyes!
